China Packaging & Processing Trade Shows 2026–2027: Machinery, Materials and Product Packaging

Compare seven China packaging exhibitions for processing lines, packaging machinery, materials, beauty packaging, luxury packs and food production.

China’s packaging calendar can look more interchangeable than it really is. A buyer developing a perfume bottle, a food factory replacing a filling line, a consumer brand comparing recyclable mailers and an engineering team automating secondary packaging may all search for a “packaging show”. They need different suppliers, evidence and exhibition routes.

For the broadest cross-industry machinery and packaging benchmark in this selection, interpack China 2026 is the clearest starting point. Sino-Pack and PACKINNO create a practical Guangzhou combination in March 2027: one concentrates on the equipment that forms, fills, seals, codes, checks and moves packs, while the other concentrates on packaging products and materials. Cosmopack Asia and LUXE PACK Shanghai are stronger when beauty-product development or premium brand presentation defines the brief. ProPak China and FoodPack China form the most relevant Shanghai route here for food processing and packaging lines.

The seven records below represent five sourcing trips, not seven. Sino-Pack and PACKINNO share dates and a venue; ProPak China and FoodPack China are presented as a joint exhibition. Treating each record as a separate journey would overstate the choice and understate the value of planning one product-led route through the co-located sections.

Follow the unresolved decision through the packaging chain

The first useful distinction is not between paper, plastic and metal. It is between four different purchasing jobs.

A production or packaging line

This brief begins with the product and process: what enters the line, what operations are required, what pack leaves it and at what output. Filling, forming, sealing, labelling, coding, inspection, case packing, palletising and line control have to work together. interpack China, Sino-Pack and ProPak China are the strongest routes in this group because they let buyers follow equipment and interfaces across more than one production stage.

The three are not identical. interpack China offers the broadest cross-industry packaging view and includes materials, finished packaging and design alongside machinery. Sino-Pack is a concentrated South China equipment route with PACKINNO and the printing and label exhibitions nearby. ProPak China gives processing equipment a larger role, especially when food, beverage, dairy, daily chemicals or pharmaceutical production must be connected to the packaging line.

A packaging format or material

Here the immediate object is the bottle, pouch, tray, carton, protective structure, logistics pack or material combination. The buyer needs to compare barrier performance, product compatibility, sealing method, print and decoration, transport protection, recyclability, filling-line compatibility and feasible order quantities.

PACKINNO is the most direct broad-format choice in this guide. It presents packaging products and materials across paper, plastics, metal, glass and textiles, as well as logistics and bio-based options. interpack China adds material suppliers and finished packs within a larger machinery environment. That is useful when changing a material could also require different forming, sealing, inspection or line-control equipment.

A beauty product supply chain

Cosmetics packaging cannot be separated neatly from formula, filling, applicator, contract manufacturing and regulatory work. Cosmopack Asia is therefore more useful than a general packaging hall when a brand is developing the product and its pack together. Its official scope combines ingredients, contract manufacturing and private label with primary and secondary packaging, print and labels, and cosmetics machinery.

This does not make Cosmopack the best place to compare general warehouse packaging or a high-speed food line. Its value comes from keeping beauty-product feasibility in the same conversation as brand presentation. The overlapping Cosmoprof Asia dates also allow a team to compare upstream manufacturing proposals with finished-product and channel positioning in one Hong Kong trip.

A premium or luxury pack

A premium-packaging brief begins with brand codes, tactile and visual finish, unboxing sequence, decoration, design control and the practical limits of repeat production. LUXE PACK Shanghai is the specialist choice. It is a curated, boutique-format event serving cosmetics and fragrance, wine and spirits, fine food, fashion, jewellery, watches, home goods and technology brands rather than a general machinery exhibition.

Its shorter two-day format is an advantage when the shortlist concerns bottles, boxes, tubes, bags, closures, special papers, decoration or design partners. A buyer whose main problem is line speed, case packing or palletising should use interpack China, Sino-Pack or ProPak instead and bring the chosen premium pack into later machinery trials.

November 2026: two broad but very different starting points

Cosmopack Asia runs in Hong Kong from 10 to 12 November. interpack China opens in Shanghai four days later, from 16 to 18 November. The dates make a combined trip possible, but the route only earns the extra travel when one project genuinely crosses beauty-product development and industrial packaging.

Cosmopack Asia for beauty development from formula to finished pack

Cosmopack Asia occupies AsiaWorld-Expo, while the finished-product Cosmoprof Asia show runs at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 11 to 13 November. The two venues and schedules should be planned deliberately: 11 and 12 November are the overlap days, but moving between the airport-side and Wan Chai venues consumes time.

For a new skincare, colour-cosmetics, fragrance or personal-care product, begin at Cosmopack with the feasibility chain. A packaging supplier’s sample only becomes meaningful once the team knows the formula compatibility, filling or assembly method, applicator performance, decoration process, leakage risk, stability-test plan and who owns the tooling. Contract manufacturers can then be compared against the same product concept rather than against a loose request for “premium packaging”.

Use Cosmoprof for the downstream check: how comparable products are positioned, what pack sizes and claims dominate the channel, and whether the proposed concept still looks distinct in its intended price band. The existing Cosmopack and Cosmoprof product-development guide develops this two-venue route in more detail.

interpack China for cross-industry line and material comparison

interpack China brings processing and packaging machinery together with packaging materials, containers, finished products, logistics packaging, printing, labelling and design. Its cross-industry structure covers food and beverages, bakery and confectionery, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, non-food goods, e-commerce and industrial products. That breadth is useful when the buyer needs to compare a complete packaging concept rather than one isolated machine.

A sensible hall plan follows the product flow. Start with the pack and material that will touch the product, then move through primary packaging, inspection and coding into secondary packaging and logistics. Reserve meetings with line integrators for the end of the route, when the interfaces and unresolved choices are visible. The show’s focus on automation and material transitions also makes it a strong place to examine whether a proposed sustainable pack is practical at the required production speed.

The 2026 edition is the first under the interpack China name after the Shanghai event operated as SWOP. Buyers comparing a full line can use the existing interpack China packaging-line sourcing guide for a more detailed preparation and follow-up framework.

When the two-city route makes sense

The Hong Kong–Shanghai combination works for beauty or personal-care teams whose packaging decision involves both specialist formulation or contract manufacturing and broader packaging automation. It can also suit a packaging group studying the beauty sector while benchmarking cross-industry machinery and materials.

For most buyers, one event is enough. A cosmetics brand choosing a new package and manufacturing partner should give Cosmopack the fuller schedule. A factory upgrading several packaging operations, or a supplier comparing equipment and materials across end-use industries, should prioritise interpack China. The six-day gap between opening dates is convenient, but it is not itself a reason to attend both.

March 2027: one Guangzhou packaging week with two complementary briefs

Sino-Pack and PACKINNO run together in Area B of the China Import and Export Fair Complex from 4 to 6 March. Printing South China and Sino-Label are held in the same exhibition cluster. For a buyer who has already defined the physical pack and production process, this is the most compact opportunity in the guide to connect materials, package conversion, labels and packaging machinery.

Sino-Pack follows the equipment and material flow through the factory

Sino-Pack concentrates on the machinery used to form, fill, seal, label, code, inspect, handle and dispatch packaged goods. Its published structure includes primary packaging, liquid packaging, container manufacturing, coding and marking, inspection, industrial robots, palletising, sorting, flexible-packaging machinery, logistics packaging and e-commerce systems.

This route is particularly relevant to factories in South China and to overseas buyers planning follow-up visits in the Pearl River Delta. The exhibition can reveal several equipment candidates quickly; the later factory visit is where the team can inspect a comparable running application, engineering depth, electrical and software standards, spare-parts support and acceptance-test capability.

PACKINNO keeps the package itself at the centre

PACKINNO keeps its attention on finished and semi-finished packaging, packaging materials, logistics protection, bio-based or plant-based materials, and design services. That difference lets a buyer carry a proposed pack from a materials meeting into machinery discussions at Sino-Pack.

Bring actual products or representative samples, target dimensions and tolerances, expected annual volume, decoration requirements, transport route, storage conditions and the target market’s labelling and packaging rules. When a new material is proposed, ask what changes it requires in forming, sealing, filling, coding, inspection and packing. A nominally “drop-in” sustainable alternative may behave differently in production or distribution.

Use the co-located printing and label shows only when the package needs them

Printing South China and Sino-Label can add value when colour control, flexible or paper converting, label construction, variable data, finishing or anti-counterfeit work is part of the same package. Give them time when the team has a defined print or converting problem; otherwise, the three days are better concentrated on the shortlisted pack and machinery interfaces.

The existing Sino-Pack product, print and production-line guide explains how to divide this cluster around one actual pack.

April 2027: LUXE PACK Shanghai for a concentrated premium brief

LUXE PACK Shanghai takes place on 14 and 15 April at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. The organiser describes it as a boutique-style show for creative packaging, with solutions for primary and secondary high-end packs, sustainable innovation, new materials and design. The completed 2026 edition was the 18th and reported more than 180 exhibitors and over 5,000 visitors.

This is a selection-led event rather than a complete packaging-factory map. A productive visit starts with two or three brand directions, a reference product and a realistic commercial frame. Ask suppliers to distinguish stock components from custom development; identify decoration and assembly subcontractors; explain tooling ownership; state colour, surface and dimensional tolerances; and show how the proposed finish can be repeated across production batches.

The show is especially useful before final engineering, while the brand can still compare materials, structures and design partners. Once a pack concept is selected, machinery compatibility, transit testing, product-contact testing and scale-up should move into samples and supplier facilities. The result should be both visually convincing and precise enough to manufacture repeatedly.

June 2027: plan ProPak China and FoodPack China as one Shanghai platform

ProPak China and FoodPack China run together at the National Exhibition and Convention Center from 22 to 24 June. The organiser presents them as a joint exhibition, so one combined meeting list is sufficient. The useful distinction is between the wider processing-and-packaging route and the food-specific operating case.

ProPak China connects upstream processing with packaging

ProPak China covers packaging machinery, food processing, filling, robotics and intelligent equipment, daily-chemical processing and packaging, fermentation, materials and containers, printing and labelling. It becomes more valuable than a packaging-only event when the purchasing problem begins before the pack—for example, mixing, dosing, thermal processing, conveying or filling conditions that determine the packaging line.

The event also sits within a larger co-located food, health and ingredients week. That environment helps product manufacturers connect process requirements with raw-material and finished-product decisions, but it can also make the route too broad. Assign separate meeting blocks to process equipment, primary packaging and end-of-line automation instead of moving through the halls by category labels alone.

FoodPack China narrows the same trip to food and beverage operations

FoodPack China provides the food-processing and packaging machinery component of the joint platform. Hygiene, cleanability, product changeover, shelf life, seal integrity, foreign-body inspection, cold-chain exposure and production traceability should shape the comparison. A beverage bottling project, a prepared-food tray line and a bakery wrapping line may share suppliers, but they should not share one technical brief.

Use the broader ProPak sections when the project needs robotics, warehousing, coding, daily-chemical or pharmaceutical processing, or general packaging technology. Keep FoodPack at the centre when product behaviour and food-safety controls determine the equipment design. In both cases, one integrated schedule is enough.

Prepare one comparable packaging brief before the show

Organise the brief into four connected inputs:

  • Product and process: physical behaviour, product-contact requirements, shelf-life objective, filling or assembly conditions and target markets.
  • Pack system: primary, secondary and transit formats; material structure, critical dimensions, closure, decoration, coding and distribution conditions.
  • Line interfaces: current and target output, changeovers, utilities, space, controls, inspection, cleaning and the responsibility split between machine suppliers and the integrator.
  • Commercial and verification basis: annual volume, tooling, sample stages, quality limits, product and transit tests, replenishment, and a precise sustainability objective where relevant.

Ask every serious machinery candidate to respond to the same flow diagram and every packaging supplier to the same reference product. A sample can demonstrate design and finish, and a live cycle can demonstrate motion; neither alone proves repeat production with the buyer’s product, materials, speed and quality limits.

The useful result is a small number of comparable next steps: samples made to one brief, a technical proposal with stated exclusions, a factory or reference-line visit, and a test plan.
