China Hotel & Restaurant Supplies Trade Shows 2026–2027: Which Fair Fits Your Buying List?

A hotel replacing towels and breakfast crockery needs a different exhibition visit from one redesigning its café or upgrading how its rooms are operated. For everyday room and table-service purchases, Guangzhou’s December hotel-supplies exhibition is a useful starting point. For kitchen and coffee operations, look to HOTELEX. When room supplies sit inside a wider refurbishment or operating-equipment project, Hotel & Shop Plus adds the relevant project context.

The choice becomes especially practical in spring 2027: HOTELEX Shanghai and Hotel & Shop Plus run on exactly the same dates, but at different venues across Shanghai. Their overlap can support one buying trip with two distinct purposes. It also means dividing the team or allocating separate days. This guide keeps the focus on what hotels and restaurants use in service: consumables, linen, tabletop products, foodservice equipment and selected operating-space upgrades.

Four fairs, three purchasing priorities

Dates and exhibit categories come from the organisers’ Guangzhou invitation, HOTELEX Shenzhen website, HOTELEX Shanghai website and HDE overview within Hotel & Shop Plus. The priorities above are buying recommendations based on those scopes.

Start in Guangzhou when the order is mostly linen, consumables and tableware

Guangzhou brings several everyday purchasing lists into one exhibition: guest-room articles, hotel textiles, tabletop products, kitchen equipment and cleaning supplies. Its category guide explicitly includes bed linen, towels, tablecloths and napkins, alongside ceramic, glass, stainless-steel and melamine tableware. That makes it a practical choice for an operator renewing rooms and breakfast service together, or a distributor assembling a hotel-supplies range.

The useful comparison is between complete ranges and their replenishment arrangements. For linen, bring the property’s bed and pillow dimensions and its laundering requirements. For crockery and glassware, start with the service format and the pieces already in use. A new range has more value when its sizes work with existing service equipment and the supplier can explain how repeat orders would be handled. Sample evaluation, continuity of references and minimum quantities matter more here than a wider tour of every hotel-related category.

Tableware is also a genuine HOTELEX category. The reason to choose Guangzhou first is the combined room-and-table order; the reason to choose HOTELEX first is a tabletop decision tied to a new menu, beverage station or kitchen operation. A hotel refresh needing towels, napkins and plates points towards the former. A café opening needing cups, a coffee setup and preparation equipment points towards the latter.

Choose HOTELEX around the foodservice operation—and the month you can buy

Shenzhen and Shanghai are alternatives within the same exhibition family, with different travel windows. Shenzhen is the earlier option, in October 2026, for buyers already planning South China meetings or needing to begin equipment discussions before spring. Its published categories include catering equipment, tabletop products, coffee and tea, beverages and bakery-related products. The organiser’s arrival guide places the venue in Bao’an; book around Shenzhen World rather than assuming a central-city exhibition location.

Shanghai is the spring option for connecting several foodservice purchases in one visit. Its published scope explicitly brings refrigeration and central-kitchen equipment alongside catering supplies, coffee and tea, tableware and baking equipment. That mix is useful when a hotel is changing breakfast production, a restaurant is equipping a new outlet, or a café operator wants to compare equipment and serviceware together. The buying question remains the outlet’s operation, even though both fairs also cover food and beverages.

For either edition, a short operating brief makes the comparisons more useful: service format, peak demand, available counter or kitchen space, and support needed in the destination market. A beverage station chosen for a small lobby café may need a different workflow from one serving a concentrated breakfast rush. Timing alone can settle the choice. If purchasing needs to advance in late 2026, Shenzhen offers an earlier comparison opportunity; production and delivery still depend on the supplier’s offer. If the brief can wait until spring, Shanghai also allows a separate Hotel & Shop Plus visit for the property-side work. Attending both HOTELEX editions earns its place when October’s shortlist leaves a specific category or project question to resolve in March, rather than simply repeating the same meetings.

Use Hotel & Shop Plus when supplies are part of an operating-space upgrade

Hotel & Shop Plus overlaps with Guangzhou on room amenities and textiles. Its extra value is the ability to discuss those purchases alongside how the hotel space will function. The organiser’s visitor overview includes room consumables, textiles, smart hotels and cleaning and maintenance. HDE is a constituent show within the wider platform; the linked-event programme also includes China Clean Expo. Plan a focused route through the relevant parts of this wider event.

For an existing hotel, a useful brief might combine replacing room supplies with changes to guest-room controls or housekeeping equipment. For a reopening, the operator may need to agree the room standard with the refurbishment team before ordering repeat-use articles. This is where the Pudong visit adds more than another comparison of towels or glasses: decisions about installed products and daily operating routines can be discussed together.

Keep responsibility clear at the point where the two meet. The operating team can judge ease of use, cleaning and replacement; the supplier responsible for installed equipment needs to explain compatibility, installation and continuing service. Guangzhou also lists smart-hotel and cleaning products, so this is a choice of project emphasis, not exclusive product availability. For a straightforward replenishment order, the room-and-table comparison may be sufficient. For a coordinated upgrade, Hotel & Shop Plus gives the broader hotel-project setting. Give the two Shanghai venues separate working days

The shared 30 March–2 April 2027 dates provide four overlapping exhibition days. HOTELEX is at NECC in Hongqiao; Hotel & Shop Plus is at SNIEC in Pudong. They are separate exhibition complexes across the city, not neighbouring halls or a walk-between-shows combination.

A single buyer covering both can reserve full days by purchasing responsibility: kitchen, coffee and tabletop meetings at Hongqiao; room supplies and operating-space discussions in Pudong. Give the principal buying task the larger share of time, then keep the remaining day flexible for the most valuable follow-up. Splitting one day between venues is better treated as an exception around a specific appointment, with an actual cross-city transfer allowance.

A hotel group sending foodservice and property-operations colleagues can work at the two venues in parallel and compare findings that evening. Share the opening or refurbishment brief beforehand so that decisions on the café, room standard and housekeeping operation remain compatible. Choose accommodation around the main venue and planned meetings, and check each organiser’s visitor arrangements separately; matching dates do not establish shared admission.

October Shenzhen and December Guangzhou are separate South China travel windows, not a continuous fair circuit. Their practical connection is follow-up: equipment discussions can progress after October while the room and table-service assortment is prepared for December. Between visits, turn shortlisted products into samples and comparable quotations so that the next exhibition answers a narrower buying question.
