A distribution centre picking mixed orders and a factory replenishing assembly stations may both be shopping for warehouse robots. Their exhibition priorities differ at the point where the goods arrive: one needs storage, picking and dispatch to work together; the other needs deliveries to fit the production rhythm.
For an integrated warehouse project, start with CeMAT ASIA in Shanghai, or compare LogiMAT China and LET for a spring or early-summer visit to South China. These three place internal material flow at the centre of the visit. ITES belongs in the comparison when the purchase extends to the station receiving the material on a production line. CeMAT ASIA: establish the warehouse concept in November
CeMAT ASIA is a useful first stop when the team is still deciding how much of the warehouse to automate and how to package the purchase. Its published scope brings together storage, mechanical handling, conveying and sorting, logistics robots, complete systems and software. For example, a distributor adding capacity may be comparing an automated storage area with a more selective investment in picking and outbound sorting. Both deserve a discussion against the same order pattern and building constraints. Shanghai’s November date also leaves time to develop the concept before the 2027 South China events. Attend again only if the later visit answers a new question or brings a relevant shortlist together. LogiMAT China: a spring alternative in Shenzhen
LogiMAT China is positioned around intralogistics solutions and process management. Its organiser’s scope connects material-handling equipment with identification, warehouse software and the flow from receipt through distribution. It is therefore a direct alternative for a warehouse team whose sourcing or project meetings are centred on Shenzhen, rather than an obligatory second stop after CeMAT. LogiMAT China visitor profile.
The useful comparison with LET is the timing and the meetings each can support. April suits a team ready to discuss its warehouse concept before June; LET offers a later Guangzhou window and explicitly includes factory planning within its integration scope. Neither brand alone establishes which event will have the right integrator or software partner for a particular project. LET: link the warehouse brief to factory flows
LET’s 2027 profile explicitly includes logistics-system integration, factory planning, internal logistics software, mobile robots, storage, conveying and sorting. This combination makes Guangzhou particularly relevant when the warehouse project also covers movement into production. For a distribution-centre project, compare LET with LogiMAT on the proposed meetings and schedule; the overlap in logistics scope is useful. Let the load and route shape the robot comparison
All three logistics-focused choices can support a discussion about internal movement. The meaningful split is between stable, repetitive flows and routes that change with the operation. Fixed conveyors and sortation deserve attention when goods follow a predictable path at sustained volume. Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) enter the comparison when movement between locations needs a different degree of flexibility.
Keep four details in the exhibition brief: the load unit, peak movement rate, route layout and receiving arrangement. Pallet transport into reserve storage, tote replenishment to workstations and carton sorting toward dispatch are different purchases, even if each proposal includes robots. These details help decide whether to meet a specialist equipment maker, a mobile-robot supplier or a system integrator responsible for several technologies. Add ITES when the receiving station is part of the purchase
ITES is an industrial-manufacturing exhibition covering production equipment, robotics and automation, with intelligent logistics among its application areas. Consider a mobile carrier delivering parts to an assembly station. The transport supplier addresses the journey and arrival; the production-side discussion covers how the load is presented, when the station can receive it and how empty carriers return. ITES earns a visit when those receiving arrangements are still part of the purchasing decision. Bring the production engineer as well as the person responsible for internal logistics.
If the project ends at a warehouse picking or shipping station, the logistics-focused fairs remain the more direct choice. ITES becomes complementary when both the transport and production interfaces need supplier input, rather than because the project happens to use a robot.
Put software responsibility beside the equipment choice
A warehouse management system (WMS) manages inventory and warehouse work; a warehouse control system (WCS) coordinates equipment-level execution. Mobile fleets may add their own management software. The exact division varies between proposals, so the buying question is who connects these functions and takes responsibility when a movement fails.
For an integrated warehouse purchase, include the operations lead and the person responsible for existing business software in the meetings at CeMAT, LogiMAT or LET. Agree which party owns inventory status, task release, equipment or fleet commands, and recovery after an interrupted transfer. For the ITES production-interface option, add the receiving cell’s controls supplier to that discussion. These are four responsibility boundaries that change who needs to be at the table, not a requirement to buy four separate software products.
A useful post-show deliverable is one material-flow drawing with the proposed supplier responsibilities marked on it. That makes the next concept review more comparable than a collection of equipment quotations with different assumptions about integration.
Plan separate trips around the next project decision
The calendar offers successive opportunities rather than one compact circuit. CeMAT in November can help establish a concept; March, April and June can serve later technical or commercial discussions if the project benefits from another visit. A buyer with a settled brief can choose one appropriate event and use the following weeks for proposal work.
ITES ends on 27 March, while LogiMAT begins on 21 April: the two Shenzhen events are more than three weeks apart. They also use different venues, Bao’an and Futian respectively. LET begins on 2 June, almost six weeks after LogiMAT closes. Treat these as separate travel budgets, even when the same South China suppliers feature in the plans.
For each trip, give any extra day a specific purpose: a technical follow-up, an agreed equipment demonstration or a relevant operating-site visit arranged with its owner.
