WEPACK 2027, 26–28 April at Shanghai New International Expo Centre, brings packaging machinery and finished-packaging options into the same visit. For a folding-carton printer considering equipment, a pre-arranged Shanghai demonstration can be a useful next step after comparing suppliers.
HEIDELBERG’s Print Media Center in Qingpu is one verified candidate. Use it when its available equipment matches your job and the company agrees a meaningful demonstration. It is not a general recommendation for every WEPACK visitor or a claim that HEIDELBERG is exhibiting in 2027.
Make the Qingpu appointment about your job
HEIDELBERG lists its Shanghai Print Media Center at 9928 SongZe Road, Qingpu, Shanghai. Its Shanghai-specific material describes demonstrations, testing and training for commercial and packaging printing, from prepress through postpress. The company also invites customers to discuss tailored demonstrations using their own print jobs.
Send the centre your substrate, sheet format, artwork, intended finish and usual run length before proposing a date. Ask which stages can actually be demonstrated in Shanghai and on which equipment. Confirm who will prepare the files and materials, any charges, the time required and what results you may take away. The published centre description does not guarantee a particular press, finishing line or April appointment.
The centre is within a production site, but a demonstration booking and a factory tour are different arrangements. The relevant appointment here is the agreed printing job, not assumed access to other production areas.
Watch the changeover as well as the finished carton
For a printer handling repeat short runs, the important comparison may be the time and waste between jobs rather than the machine’s displayed running speed. Agree where the trial starts and stops: file preparation, make-ready, colour adjustment, saleable sheets and any finishing included in the demonstration. Record the material and settings used so a later quotation describes the same job.
Bring a known acceptable reference and the specific defect or production bottleneck you are trying to resolve. A demanding solid colour, a repeated finishing requirement or a frequently changed job can make the discussion more concrete than an attractive demonstration image selected by the vendor. Ask your production team to define acceptance criteria and interpret the results.
If a downstream step cannot be shown, record it as an open question rather than treating a printed sheet as a completed carton. This keeps the proposed press, finishing responsibilities and existing plant equipment connected in the investment decision. A demonstration informs that decision; it does not settle installation, service coverage or contractual performance guarantees.
Keep the extra stop proportionate to the investment decision
SNIEC is in Pudong; the centre is in Qingpu. Plan a separate confirmed appointment after the relevant WEPACK comparisons, with a route estimate agreed with the host. If the transfer would cut into important hall meetings, consider an online demonstration or a different date.
This extension fits a buyer evaluating the centre’s packaging-printing workflow. A brand purchasing finished boxes may gain more from sample discussions with packaging suppliers. A corrugator or moulded-fibre machinery buyer needs a different demonstration unless the host explicitly confirms a relevant process. When the technology shortlist is still open, use the remaining show time to compare it before committing to one company’s trial.
