China Water Treatment, Filtration & Fluid Equipment Trade Shows 2026–2027

Compare seven China water exhibitions for treatment systems, filtration, evaporation and crystallisation, pumps and valves, water infrastructure and irrigation.

A water-treatment plant, a filtration component, a pump package and an irrigation system may all appear under “water technology”, but they are not the same buying mission. China’s specialist calendar reflects those differences. Aquatech China and WATERTECH China provide broad treatment-system coverage; Filtration & Separation Asia and SHEC concentrate on particular process steps; FLOWTECH China is centred on moving and controlling fluids; the Beijing water-conservancy and irrigation exhibitions address infrastructure, water management and agriculture.

For a buyer who has not yet fixed the process route, Aquatech China or WATERTECH China is the strongest general starting point. A team that already knows it needs filter media, a high-salinity concentration line, a pump-and-valve package or precision irrigation should begin with the relevant specialist show. The value of this guide is therefore not a single ranking, but a map from a defined water duty to the right exhibition floor.

This guide covers seven verified exhibitions from 28 October 2026 to 18 June 2027. WATERTECH and FLOWTECH run on the same dates at Shanghai New International Expo Centre, while the two Beijing exhibitions are co-located. Those pairings can reduce travel without pretending that the shows have identical scopes.

Choose the show by system boundary

The fastest way to eliminate the wrong event is to state what the supplier must be responsible for.

This boundary matters because a supplier that manufactures a membrane element may not engineer the complete pretreatment and control system. A pump company may provide a compliant hydraulic package without taking responsibility for water quality. An evaporation specialist may solve the concentration stage but rely on other firms for biological treatment, membranes and solids disposal.

Aquatech China and WATERTECH China: the two broad treatment platforms

Aquatech China 2026 is organised around process water, drinking water and wastewater. Its published scope includes membranes and filtration, pumps and valves, disinfection, monitoring, sludge treatment and complete systems. This makes it a useful autumn platform for a project team comparing treatment routes or assembling several parts of a plant.

WATERTECH China 2027 covers a similarly broad chain in June: wastewater, membrane and treatment technologies, pipelines, monitoring, pumps and valves, stormwater, point-of-use and point-of-entry treatment. It sits inside the larger WieTec environmental and low-carbon exhibition ecosystem at SNIEC, which can help teams whose water brief touches adjacent infrastructure or environmental equipment.

The two fairs are genuine alternatives when the buyer needs a broad Shanghai water-technology visit and can travel in either October or June. The decision is often calendar-led, but there are practical differences:

  • choose Aquatech for a focused autumn water-technology mission and a compact comparison across process, drinking and wastewater applications;
  • choose WATERTECH when a June visit is better, or when the team also needs fluid equipment and adjacent environmental systems within the same venue cycle;
  • attend both only if the project has moved forward between editions, the supplier pool needs to be refreshed, or different technical workstreams justify a second visit.

Filtration & Separation Asia: when the process step is already clear

Filtration & Separation Asia 2026 is not limited to municipal or industrial water. Its specialist identity spans filter media, filtration components, production equipment, testing and separation processes used with liquids, air and gases. That broader application base is exactly what makes it valuable to component and process buyers.

A buyer can use the show to compare media construction, pore or retention performance, chemical and temperature compatibility, pressure drop, cleanability, element geometry, housing design and test methods. These are more specific questions than “what water system do you sell?” They also make the event relevant to food, chemical, pharmaceutical, dust-control and other process industries alongside water treatment.

The show becomes less suitable when the buyer still needs an engineering firm to define the entire water process. In that case, begin at a broad treatment platform, then use FSA once the required separation step and operating envelope are understood.

SHEC: evaporation and crystallisation are the centre, not a side category

The Shanghai International Evaporation and Crystallization Technology and Equipment Exhibition concentrates on MVR and multi-effect evaporation, crystallisation, concentration, heat transfer and related equipment. It is particularly relevant where high-salinity wastewater, mother liquor, solvent or product recovery creates a defined thermal-process duty.

This is a narrower but commercially important layer of the water-treatment chain. The buyer should arrive with feed composition and variability, target concentration or crystal specification, likely scaling and corrosion risks, heat source, energy constraints, cleaning plan and the boundary between evaporation, crystallisation and final solids handling. Without those inputs, apparently similar systems cannot be compared meaningfully.

SHEC complements a broad water show when the project includes difficult industrial effluent or zero-liquid-discharge work. It is a poor substitute for buyers whose main requirement is ordinary drinking-water treatment, municipal biological treatment or distribution infrastructure.

FLOWTECH: evaluate the hydraulic package on its own terms

FLOWTECH China 2027 focuses on pumps, valves, pipes, actuators, motors, seals, compressors and intelligent supply and drainage equipment. These components sit inside many water projects, but their selection depends on hydraulic duty and materials rather than on treatment performance alone.

Useful comparisons begin with flow, head or pressure, fluid composition, solids, temperature, operating cycle, wetted materials, sealing, motor efficiency, control method and installation constraints. A supplier discussion should also cover the actual performance curve, acceptable operating range, spare parts, maintenance access and responsibility for skids or controls.

FLOWTECH and WATERTECH run from 16 to 18 June at the same Shanghai venue. This is the strongest natural combination in the guide. A project team can use WATERTECH for process trains, membranes, instrumentation and treatment-system integrators, then use FLOWTECH for the pump, valve and pipeline package. Separate meeting lists keep the two tasks clear while avoiding another trip.

Beijing: combine water infrastructure with irrigation only when the project connects them

The Beijing Water Conservancy Science & Technology Expo 2027 covers smart water, water supply, hydraulic engineering, drinking-water safety, flood and drought management, plus pumps, pipes and valves. It fits public infrastructure, regional water management, utility and engineering missions better than a factory process-water brief.

The co-located China International Irrigation Technology Exhibition focuses on precision irrigation, filters, valves, pumps, fertigation, greenhouses, digital agriculture and irrigation-district modernisation. Its decision variables include crop, climate, water source and quality, field geometry, emitter performance, filtration, dosing, automation and local service.

Because both events run from 29 to 31 March at the China National Convention Center, one team can cover district water infrastructure and farm-level delivery on the same visit. That combination is especially useful for agricultural-water programmes in which conveyance, pumping, filtration, fertigation and controls must connect. A municipal wastewater or industrial process-water buyer will usually find the Shanghai water shows more direct.

A practical calendar

  • 28–30 October, Shanghai — Aquatech: broad autumn water-treatment sourcing;
  • 18–20 November, Shanghai — FSA: filtration and separation components or process steps;
  • 9–11 December, Shanghai — SHEC: concentration, evaporation, crystallisation and high-salinity duties;
  • 29–31 March, Beijing — water conservancy + irrigation: infrastructure and agricultural-water systems in one venue;
  • 16–18 June, Shanghai — WATERTECH + FLOWTECH: treatment systems and fluid equipment in one visit.

The three Shanghai events in late 2026 are weeks apart, not one continuous itinerary. They should be treated as alternative specialist trips unless an ongoing project requires repeated technical meetings. The June 2027 pair and March 2027 pair are genuinely co-located combinations.

Prepare a technical brief before contacting exhibitors

Define the variables that change the fair or supplier shortlist:

Once a shortlist exists, add available utilities, site constraints, tie-in points and applicable local limits to the project brief.

The purpose is not to complete design before the fair. It is to stop different suppliers from quoting different system boundaries under the same headline capacity. Mark clearly which firm is responsible for process performance, equipment supply, controls, installation, commissioning, consumables and after-sales service.

From exhibition comparison to supplier verification

At the show, narrow the field through technical fit and explicit exclusions. After the show, request process descriptions, performance data, reference installations, material specifications, utility consumption, maintenance requirements and a responsibility matrix. Factory visits are most valuable when they can examine relevant production and testing capability; operating reference-site visits are more useful for validating treatment performance and maintainability.
