CFME 2026: Is an Aquatech Water-Project Extension Worth It?

Compare fluid equipment at CFME, then consider Aquatech for water treatment only when the project and four-day gap justify a longer Shanghai stay.

Combining CFME 2026 with Aquatech China 2026 can serve an industrial water project, but it is not a back-to-back exhibition trip. CFME runs on 21–23 October; Aquatech follows on 28–30 October. That leaves four full days, 24–27 October, between them.

The extension makes sense when you need both a fluid-equipment shortlist and water-treatment partners, with confirmed business that makes the intervening stay worthwhile. For a pump replacement or a valve-only order, completing the relevant CFME meetings and returning home is usually a more focused plan.

What Aquatech adds after CFME

CFME’s organiser lists pumps, industrial valves, fans, compressors, vacuum equipment and other fluid-machinery categories. This supports conversations about the equipment that moves or controls a fluid across many industries. It is not limited to water.

Aquatech’s published segments include membrane filtration, water and wastewater treatment, process control, transport and storage, and engineering. Pumps and valves appear there too, but a water-project buyer can use the second event to discuss how equipment fits the treatment system. The useful addition is a different purchasing question, not a second search for the same pump.

Consider the combination if you are evaluating equipment suppliers alongside a treatment-system provider or integrator. If the main unresolved issue concerns a compressor for a non-water process, Aquatech’s water focus is unlikely to justify the extra stay.

Carry one project brief between the two shows

Bring the same description of the water source, intended use, required output quality and operating pattern to both sets of meetings. Have your technical team define the relevant flow and pressure requirements and available water-quality information. Suppliers may need further analysis before offering a solution; the aim of the visit is to establish what they need, not to settle a treatment design on the exhibition floor.

At CFME, record the equipment proposed, its duty assumptions, materials and what is included with it. At Aquatech, ask the treatment or system supplier where that equipment would sit in its proposed scope, and who would select controls, coordinate connections and commission the assembled installation. A pump quotation and a treatment proposal are not automatically compatible because both mention the same nominal flow.

Leave with the missing information assigned to a named party and an agreed next review. This is especially valuable when equipment and system design will come from separate suppliers: it gives your team a concrete way to compare complete offers later.

Price the four-day gap before extending the booking

The 24–25 October weekend falls inside the gap, followed by Monday and Tuesday, 26–27 October. Supplier staff availability matters as much as distance. Arrange any business appointments before extending accommodation; a company being based in Shanghai does not establish that its technical team is available between the shows.

The gap may support already-needed project meetings and quotation review. It is not necessary to fill every day, but the added hotel nights and time away should earn their place in the purchase. If those appointments cannot be confirmed, choose the show that answers your current question: CFME for the fluid-equipment selection or Aquatech for the water-treatment supplier search. Both are useful without being a compulsory pair.

Change venues deliberately

CFME is at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in the Hongqiao area; the organiser identifies halls 2, 3 and 4. Aquatech is at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, 2345 Long Yang Road in Pudong. These are different exhibition sites on opposite sides of the city, not adjacent halls.

A workable sequence is CFME supplier comparisons, the confirmed non-show programme, then targeted Aquatech appointments. Choose accommodation around the actual meetings and check the transfer before the Aquatech visit; changing hotel may be useful if your work moves to Pudong. There is no reason to plan daily journeys back to the first venue after CFME ends.

Use each organiser’s own visitor-registration entry and keep the two confirmations separate. Plan the final Aquatech day around its published Friday closing time of 15:00, rather than assuming all three days have the same hours.
