Their projects differ in process, utilities, factory layout and return on investment. A useful exhibition choice begins with the production stage that must change—not with the word “textile” in the event name.
For capital investment across the textile manufacturing chain, ITMA Asia + CITME 2026 is the broadest technical benchmark in this guide. CISMA 2027 goes deeper into sewing, pre-sewing, embroidery, post-sewing and garment-factory automation. DTC 2027 offers a more regional Greater Bay Area route across garment, sewing, embroidery, printing and associated footwear equipment. The Wenzhou leather and shoe-technology fair is the specialist choice for footwear materials and manufacturing. Texcare Asia serves a different operating environment: professional laundry, dry-cleaning and textile-care plants after products enter use.
The five fairs span August 2026 to September 2027. They are not one annual ranking. Each becomes useful at a different point in an equipment project, and the later 2027 dates can be valuable to factories whose investment brief is not ready for ITMA in November 2026.

ITMA Asia + CITME: build the benchmark around the process flow
ITMA Asia + CITME 2026 covers the widest manufacturing chain in this selection. Its official product index runs from fibre and spinning through weaving, knitting, nonwovens, printing, dyeing and finishing to embroidery, garment technology, recycling, testing, packaging, software and plant operations. That scale makes it appropriate for mills and industrial groups comparing a major line, several connected sections or a longer-term equipment roadmap.
The visit becomes productive when the current process is already measured. Bring product mix, fibre or fabric range, present and target capacity, quality losses, changeover time, labour by operation, energy and water consumption, floor constraints and upstream/downstream interfaces. Without that baseline, a faster machine can appear attractive while moving the bottleneck to preparation, finishing, inspection or material handling.
ITMA is also where buyers can compare competing technical routes rather than individual models alone: air-jet versus another weaving route, conventional versus digital printing, different drying or heat-setting systems, automated material movement, process monitoring or recycling technologies. The shortlist should include complete line logic, local service, spare parts, commissioning, operator training and reference installations for similar materials.

CISMA: deeper focus on sewing and garment-factory execution
CISMA 2027 narrows the lens to sewing machinery and the production systems around it. The organiser’s scope includes software, pre-sewing equipment, sewing, embroidery, post-sewing, logistics management, motors, parts, tools, laser and printing technologies. The practical buyer is often a garment, footwear, bag, upholstery or technical-sewn-product factory that needs to reduce handling, stabilise workmanship or connect operations digitally.
CISMA complements ITMA with a different centre of gravity. A mill selecting spinning or dyeing equipment belongs at ITMA; a cut-and-sew operation redesigning its cutting room, sewing cells, hanging system, finishing flow or production data belongs more naturally at CISMA. The two overlap around garment technology and automation without serving the same overall process map.
Compare the complete operation. For an automated sewing unit, record the product variants it can handle, fixtures and change parts, achievable seam quality, operator tasks, programming time, maintenance skill, rejected-piece handling and how output reaches the next operation. A demonstration on one prepared sample is a starting point; the factory decision depends on the buyer’s own materials and size range.
DTC: a South China route for applied garment and footwear equipment
DTC 2027 brings together intelligent textile and garment equipment, the South China sewing-machinery show and embroidery/printing technology in Dongguan. The organiser also schedules a footwear machinery and materials fair alongside it. This makes DTC a practical regional platform for factories operating in Guangdong and nearby manufacturing areas.
Compared with CISMA, DTC’s advantage is not that every equipment category is deeper. Its value lies in a compact applied route and the possibility of connecting show meetings with factory or reference-site visits in South China. A garment maker assessing cutting, sewing, embroidery or digital printing can compare suppliers and then investigate how shortlisted equipment runs in a production environment.
DTC also suits mixed factories whose immediate project crosses garment and footwear processes. Keep the brief divided by line. A digital print section, an embroidery line and a shoe-upper sewing cell have different material preparation, software, fixtures, throughput and quality indicators. Combining meetings should make the trip efficient without merging the investment cases.
Wenzhou: footwear technology inside a shoe-industry cluster
The Wenzhou Leather, Shoe Materials & Shoe Machinery Fair combines leather and synthetic materials, footwear components and chemicals with cutting, stitching, forming, laser, mould and CAD/CAM equipment. Its distinctive value is the connection between material choice and shoe production in a city with an established footwear industrial base.
For a shoe project, the machinery cannot be separated from the construction. A new upper material changes cutting yield, skiving, stitching and forming behaviour. A sole design changes moulds, compounds, bonding and cycle time. Automation claims should therefore be tested against the intended shoe type, size range, material variation and order pattern.
This fair is more direct than a general garment-machinery event for footwear-specific processes. It can also support follow-up with suppliers in and around the regional cluster, provided visits are based on verified production addresses. Texcare Asia: process equipment for professional textile care
Texcare Asia & China Laundry Expo covers washing, dry-cleaning, drying, ironing, folding, conveying and packaging systems, plus chemicals, water and energy solutions, digital management, RFID, leather care, rental textiles and laundry-plant services. Its visitors include commercial laundries, hotels, hospitals, transport operators, care institutions and cleaning businesses.
This is a process-equipment fair, but the input is soiled textile in use rather than fibre, fabric or a garment under manufacture. Capacity must therefore be modelled by textile mix, soil level, wash formula, batch or tunnel process, finishing requirement, hygiene separation, peak demand and return logistics. Water, steam, heat recovery, dosing and labour movement can matter as much as rated machine capacity.
Texcare fits a laundry plant expansion, hotel or hospital linen system, uniform service, laundromat network or textile-rental operation. A garment factory buying sewing machinery will find CISMA or DTC more relevant, even if both businesses handle clothing.
Use timing to match investment readiness

ITMA and CISMA are ten months apart, which can support a staged project. A factory may use ITMA to understand the market and technical routes, narrow its process design, collect operating evidence, and then use CISMA for a deeper sewing-system decision if that remains part of the plan. The sequence fits projects that extend into garment production; a spinning or weaving investment can usually conclude its exhibition work at ITMA.
DTC can serve as an earlier 2027 decision point or a regional alternative for South China operations. The choice should follow project maturity, supplier shortlist and reference-site access rather than waiting for the largest name.
Turn machine interest into an investment comparison
Build the equipment brief in three parts:
- Current operation: current-state data, target output, product range, quality limits, available utilities, floor plan, required interfaces and the people who will operate and maintain the system.
- Controlled trial: representative materials or product files that suppliers can run before or during the visit.
- Written configuration: included equipment, options, tooling, software, installation, training, acceptance criteria, warranty, spare parts and service response.
Compare total installed operation rather than booth price. Freight, foundation or ventilation work, steam, power, water treatment, data integration, change parts, consumables, operator learning and ramp-up losses can alter the business case. A credible payback model states the volume, shifts, utilisation, labour, scrap and energy assumptions behind it.
