Which China Plastics and Rubber Show Fits Your Next Purchase?

Compare five China fairs from September 2026 to April 2027 for plastics materials, processing equipment and rubber technology, with dates and sourcing trade-offs.

A material supplier, a processing-machine builder and a tooling specialist may all be relevant to the same project. That does not make their offers interchangeable—or make every exhibition covering them equally useful for your next decision.

For a plastics materials or processing purchase, Nanjing, Suzhou and CHINAPLAS offer substantially overlapping categories. Timing and the suppliers you can actually meet may decide between them. DMP deserves a closer look when plastics equipment sits within a wider tooling or automation investment. For a tyre or non-tyre rubber brief, start by considering RubberTech’s rubber-specific scope.

The five editions below run from September 2026 to April 2027. They are selected alternatives, with some scope for purposeful follow-up visits, not a complete China fair calendar or a continuous sourcing trip.

Show and dates Venue Reason to consider it
RubberTech China 2026, 15–17 September Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Shanghai Rubber machinery, chemicals and materials, tyre and non-tyre products, recycling and retreading.
China International Plastics Exhibition 2026, 28–30 October Nanjing International Expo Center, Nanjing Plastics materials and processing equipment alongside finished products and research results.
Suzhou International Plastics and Rubber Industry Exhibition 2026 (Huasu), 18–20 November Suzhou International Expo Center, Suzhou Materials, processing, auxiliaries and recycling equipment in an East China-focused event.
DMP Greater Bay Area Industrial Expo 2026, 3–6 December Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, Bao’an, Shenzhen Plastics equipment and materials within a broader manufacturing, tooling and automation exhibition.
CHINAPLAS 2027, 13–16 April Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, Bao’an, Shenzhen Broad plastics and rubber materials-and-equipment comparison for projects that can use an April visit.

Dates, venues and exhibit categories follow the organiser sources listed below. The reasons for choosing a visit are buyer recommendations; a published category does not confirm a particular supplier’s attendance or suitability.

Comparing plastics materials and processing options

Nanjing, Suzhou and CHINAPLAS all include materials, processing machines, auxiliary equipment and recycling-related categories. A processor investigating a material change alongside equipment requirements could reasonably shortlist any of the three, then narrow the choice using the purchase deadline and confirmed supplier meetings.

If the project needs supplier discussions in late 2026, Nanjing in October and Suzhou in November are the relevant options within this group. Nanjing’s published scope also includes finished plastic products and research institutes and universities. That could be useful if your team is still comparing what to make or which technical approach to investigate, as well as what to buy. Distinguish a commercially orderable offer from a research display before using either in a purchasing plan.

Suzhou’s organiser positions the event around East China and the Yangtze River Delta. If you already have technical contacts or suppliers to meet in that region, the November dates may make it a practical choice. The location itself does not establish where an exhibitor manufactures, and any separate supplier visit needs its own agreement. Without a regional meeting reason, compare Suzhou with Nanjing on the relevant exhibitors rather than assuming a different technical specialism.

CHINAPLAS provides another broad comparison in April 2027, including plastics and rubber materials, moulds, processing machines, automation and recycling. If an April visit falls before your supplier-selection decision, it is a candidate for examining several connected purchases at one exhibition. If that decision must be made in 2026, the later date limits its usefulness for the initial choice. Check participation for the 2027 edition: some current exhibitor and navigation content still refers to 2026 and does not confirm who will be in Shenzhen in April.

Whichever of these fairs you consider, make the enquiry specific enough to identify the right meetings. A materials purchase needs an orderable grade or compound for the intended application, not just a resin family name. An equipment enquiry needs to distinguish a machine quotation from responsibility for the wider process, trials and integration. For recycling, first establish whether you want to buy recycled material or machinery to process a defined waste stream. Those are different supplier searches, even when the same show covers both.

DMP’s plastics exhibition includes injection moulding, extrusion, blown-film and packaging machinery, hot runners, auxiliaries and polymer materials. Its wider manufacturing scope adds mould-related work, automation and robots, machine tools and manufacturing digitalisation. Treat the plastics exhibition and the DMP umbrella as one visit, not two competing fairs.

That combination could suit a team investigating plastics equipment together with tooling or automation changes. The reason to choose DMP is the relevance of those adjacent categories to the actual investment—not an assumption that several exhibitors will deliver an integrated system. Before travel, identify which supplier discussions need your production, tooling or automation colleagues, and who would be responsible for coordinating the proposed equipment.

The broad plastics fairs also cover moulds, auxiliaries or automation, so DMP is not the only option for a combined enquiry. For a material-only purchase, its wider industrial programme is not by itself a reason to prefer it.

Keep a rubber purchase distinct from a generic plastics enquiry

RubberTech covers rubber machinery, chemicals and raw materials, thermoplastic elastomers, tyre and non-tyre rubber products, recycling and tyre retreading. A rubber brief therefore need not be a tyre brief, and a tyre or retreading project should not be reduced to a general resin search.

If those rubber-specific categories describe the purchase, RubberTech is a logical first candidate to investigate. There is overlap with CHINAPLAS in rubber materials, thermoplastic elastomers and equipment; a project involving both plastics and rubber may have reasons to consider the later broad event. Establish which suppliers can discuss the specific compound, machinery or rubber-product enquiry before choosing between them.

Timing is particularly restrictive here. As of 8 September 2026, RubberTech opens the following week. Consider it only if travel and worthwhile supplier meetings are still feasible for your team; confirm those arrangements before committing to the visit.

Give a second visit a specific job

None of these editions overlaps, but their separation across several months makes them separate travel decisions. Nanjing and Suzhou are different East China dates; DMP and CHINAPLAS use the same Shenzhen convention complex in December and April respectively. Shared geography does not turn either pair into one continuous visit.

One well-targeted exhibition may be enough to establish a shortlist. Before booking, send prospective exhibitors a short brief stating what you intend to purchase, its application and the decision you need the meeting to support. Ask them to confirm attendance at the exact edition and whether the appropriate technical contact will be available. This helps distinguish a useful appointment from a category match.

After the visit, turn the promising discussions into a defined next step: a material sample and supporting information, an equipment proposal with stated scope, or an agreed approach to a trial. Keep responsibility for any trial or integration explicit. An exhibition conversation alone does not establish application suitability, supplier capability or acceptance of the eventual purchase.

A return trip earns its place when those follow-ups reveal something new to resolve. For example, an autumn materials-and-equipment comparison could lead to a more specific enquiry at CHINAPLAS in April, provided the project timetable allows it and relevant suppliers confirm participation. If samples and technical discussions can settle the remaining choice without another fair, there is no need to attend a second exhibition simply because it shares the category.
