China Solar, Battery & Energy Storage Trade Shows 2026–2027: A Buyer’s Guide

Compare eight China solar, battery, energy-storage and charging exhibitions by supply-chain focus, system role, dates, city and buyer mission.

China’s solar and storage exhibition calendar brings several supply chains under the same energy label. A photovoltaic manufacturer looking for cell or module equipment, a battery brand qualifying materials and pack production, a project developer comparing complete storage systems, and a charging-network operator may all see familiar terms in an event brochure. Their useful supplier lists, however, are quite different.

For a broad photovoltaic benchmark, SNEC PV+ in Shanghai is the strongest starting point in this selection. WBE in Guangzhou and the CHTF Asia Energy Storage & Battery Industry Exhibition in Shenzhen provide more concentrated battery-manufacturing routes. SNEC ES+ is the clearer Shanghai choice for storage projects and grid integration, while the CHTF charging exhibition is the specialist option for charging and swapping infrastructure. IDEE and Clean Energy Expo China become valuable when the brief crosses equipment, software, electricity management and system design.

This guide links eight event records, but they represent five practical trips. The Guangzhou solar and battery shows share the same dates and exhibition complex. Shenzhen’s two China Hi-Tech Fair sections also run together, as do SNEC PV+ and SNEC ES+ in Shanghai. Counting every co-located section as a separate journey would exaggerate the calendar and obscure the decisions that buyers actually need to make.

Separate the buying task before comparing shows

The most useful first split is between manufacturing a product and delivering an energy system.

A manufacturing brief begins with materials, production equipment, process control, yield, testing and the design of a cell, module or pack. WBE and the CHTF battery exhibition lead this route. The solar exhibitions also matter when the product is a PV cell, module, inverter or mounting system rather than a complete power project.

A system brief begins with an operating case: site load, generation profile, required power and energy, grid connection, dispatch logic, safety strategy, environmental conditions and commercial responsibility. SNEC ES+, IDEE and the storage side of the Guangzhou solar show provide more direct routes into system architecture. Clean Energy Expo China helps when storage must be assessed alongside solar, hydrogen or a large new electricity load.

Charging infrastructure sits between the two. Chargers, connectors and power modules are products, but the station also depends on distribution capacity, user demand, payment and operating software, communications, maintenance and sometimes on-site solar and storage. The CHTF charging exhibition deserves its own shortlist when that complete station is the buying task.

September 2026: two South China routes in the same week

IDEE opens in central Shenzhen on 15 September. The Guangzhou solar and WBE exhibitions begin one day later and continue through 18 September at the Canton Fair Complex. The cities are connected by frequent high-speed rail, but the overlap leaves little room for an unfocused three-show tour.

Shenzhen IDEE for digital operation and energy coordination

IDEE is organised around electricity-carbon integration, new-energy power equipment, AI-enabled solutions, efficient energy services and APEC energy-innovation practices. Its distinctive value is not a single product chain. It brings equipment together with the control, data and service layers used to coordinate generation, storage, grids and industrial energy demand.

This makes Shenzhen relevant to industrial energy users, campus or park operators, utilities, energy-service companies and solution teams asking how several assets will work together. Their meeting brief should include the existing electrical architecture, metering and data sources, controllable loads, storage or renewable assets, operating constraints and the decisions that software is expected to make. A buyer searching only for battery cells or a standard PV module can work more efficiently in Guangzhou.

IDEE can be combined with one targeted Guangzhou day when the same project needs both system-level control and physical solar or battery suppliers. The route is most realistic for a team: one group stays with digital-energy architecture in Shenzhen while another begins product meetings in Guangzhou. A single visitor should identify the more important question and avoid dividing two days across three large exhibition scopes.

Solar PV & Energy Storage World Expo and WBE share the same dates and exhibition complex, with the solar event in Area B and WBE in Area A. They should be planned as one Guangzhou energy week with two specialist buyer missions.

The solar show connects PV production equipment, cells and modules with inverters, mounting and storage. It is the more direct starting point for module buyers, solar distributors, installers and developers who need to compare the generation package before moving into storage. Bring the target market, module format and power class, certification needs, mechanical and environmental loads, inverter architecture, mounting conditions, warranty assumptions and expected annual volume.

WBE follows the battery chain more deeply. Its published scope includes several battery chemistries, materials, manufacturing and testing equipment, cells, packs, BMS, stationary storage, charging and discharging infrastructure, recycling and reuse. Cell and pack manufacturers can compare production processes and test methods; product brands can examine pack architecture and application-specific suppliers; storage teams can use the event to investigate the components inside a proposed system.

The event website currently displays 16–18 September in its live header while an older introduction block still shows an August date. Buyers should therefore reconfirm the final visitor schedule with the organiser before purchasing non-refundable travel. The co-located solar show independently confirms 16–18 September at the same complex.

Attending both Guangzhou sections is useful when the team has separate PV and battery shortlists or is building a product that combines them. It is less useful to collect generic “solar plus storage” offers without first deciding whether the company needs components, branded equipment, contract manufacturing or a complete engineered system.

November 2026: one China Hi-Tech Fair trip, two different buyer missions

The CHTF Asia Energy Storage & Battery Industry Exhibition and the CHTF Asia Solar-Storage-Charging & Charging Pile Industry Exhibition run from 26 to 28 November at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an. Both are sections of the 28th China Hi-Tech Fair. They share the same trip but should not share one undifferentiated meeting list.

Battery manufacturing and storage products

The battery section covers active materials, separators, electrolytes, cells, BMS, production and recycling equipment, packs, stationary-storage systems and applications. Compared with the wider China Hi-Tech Fair, this section gives a battery buyer a more coherent route from manufacturing inputs to finished systems.

A materials or cell team should specify chemistry, form factor, capacity, rate performance, temperature range, cycle-life method and required safety tests. A pack buyer should add enclosure, ingress protection, thermal management, electrical architecture, communications and certification. A storage-system team needs to identify which supplier owns the battery racks, BMS, power-conversion system, energy-management system, thermal management, fire protection and site integration. These are different comparison sheets even when they are used in the same hall.

Charging, swapping and station operation

The charging section focuses on charging solutions, solar-storage-charging integration, advanced charging technologies, supporting equipment, station operation and charging or swapping systems. It is more useful than the battery section when the project begins with a fleet, public network, depot, residential development or destination-charging site.

Before meetings, document the vehicle types, connector and protocol requirements, AC or DC power, number of simultaneous users, duty cycle, grid capacity, installation environment, payment and roaming needs, remote monitoring, target availability and service area. If on-site storage is proposed to reduce peak demand or support high-power charging, ask suppliers to show the control logic, usable energy, degradation assumptions and responsibility across charger, storage and grid interfaces.

The two sections combine well for a company developing charging equipment, battery swapping or a solar-storage-charging station. A stationary-storage buyer without a mobility requirement will normally gain more by spending the second day on battery systems and other CHTF energy-technology sections than by treating every charger supplier as an adjacent opportunity.

March 2027: Beijing for a cross-technology clean-energy decision

Clean Energy Expo China uses a wider project frame. The organiser’s 2027 structure connects photovoltaic power, concentrated solar power, hydrogen and energy storage, while adding AI data-centre energy demand and AI applications for new energy. This is a useful combination for developers, industrial groups and engineering teams comparing how several technologies may serve one investment or power-demand programme.

The exhibition is most useful earlier in the decision process, when the buyer needs to map technology routes, potential partners and system interfaces before issuing detailed equipment enquiries. WBE offers greater battery-manufacturing depth and SNEC PV+ a larger photovoltaic platform; Beijing instead helps a project team compare connected choices. A data-centre project, for example, may need to assess grid supply, renewable procurement, storage, backup power, controls and future hydrogen options together.

Use Beijing to narrow the architecture and identify credible solution teams. Later technical meetings can then focus on the selected equipment chain at SNEC or at supplier facilities. Buyers who have already finalised a PV module specification and only need comparable factory offers may find the specialist manufacturing events more efficient.

June 2027: treat SNEC PV+ and SNEC ES+ as one Shanghai week

SNEC PV+ and SNEC ES+ run on the same dates at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. They are two views of a connected market, not two separate journeys.

SNEC PV+ follows solar from manufacturing materials and equipment through cells, modules, inverters, engineering and deployed power systems. It is the stronger national benchmark for teams comparing several layers of the photovoltaic chain or assessing how manufacturing choices affect project products. The breadth is most useful when responsibilities are divided among module, inverter, balance-of-system, engineering and commercial teams.

SNEC ES+ places storage at the centre. Its scope connects battery technology with power conversion, smart grids, renewable-energy integration, safety and project services. A developer selecting a utility or commercial-and-industrial storage solution should use this section to compare complete architectures and delivery roles, then visit PV+ only for the generation interfaces relevant to the same project.

A combined schedule works well for solar-plus-storage projects. Begin with one written project case and split the questions by package. The PV team compares modules, inverters, structures and generation assumptions. The storage team compares cells, racks, PCS, EMS, thermal and fire-safety design, augmentation and operating strategy. Joint meetings are reserved for DC coupling, grid connection, plant controls, warranty interactions and responsibility for integrated performance.

Which trip should lead the shortlist?

PV manufacturing, modules, inverters or mounting

Start with SNEC PV+ for the broadest benchmark in this group. The Guangzhou solar show is a practical earlier option and pairs naturally with WBE when batteries or storage products are also part of the brief.

Battery materials, cells, packs or manufacturing equipment

Begin with WBE or the CHTF battery exhibition. WBE provides the Guangzhou battery-industry route alongside a major solar event; the Shenzhen section connects battery and storage technology with the wider China Hi-Tech Fair ecosystem. SNEC ES+ becomes more relevant when the cell or pack must be evaluated inside a complete storage project.

Commercial, industrial or utility energy storage

Use SNEC ES+ as the specialist Shanghai benchmark. IDEE is valuable for the digital operating layer, and Clean Energy Expo China helps when the storage decision sits inside a wider clean-energy architecture. At WBE or CHTF, keep system suppliers separate from component and manufacturing-equipment suppliers in the comparison sheet.

Charging or swapping infrastructure

The CHTF charging exhibition is the clearest specialist choice. WBE may add battery and storage suppliers, while IDEE can add energy-management and electricity-carbon coordination when the charging site is part of a wider industrial or urban energy system.

A project still comparing several technology routes

Clean Energy Expo China provides the clearest cross-technology frame in this selection. IDEE is stronger when the central question is digital coordination of existing or planned energy assets. Once the architecture is narrowed, use the specialist solar, battery, storage or charging event for the deeper supplier search.

Prepare a different evidence pack for each supply chain

For PV products, record the target market and application, power and format, electrical and mechanical specifications, bill-of-material assumptions, certification, traceability, warranty basis and forecast volume. Module buyers should understand which factory makes the cells and modules, how materials are controlled, and which test evidence belongs to the exact offered construction.

For batteries, define chemistry, form factor, capacity and power, operating temperature, expected duty cycle, enclosure and thermal design, BMS communication, transport classification and target standards. Ask how cycle life was tested and how the offered cell, pack design and operating window compare with the test conditions.

For storage systems, bring a load and generation profile rather than a headline megawatt-hour figure. Specify connection point, required power and usable energy, charge-discharge pattern, ambient conditions, dispatch objective, grid-code needs, safety approach and project schedule. Compare who owns design, integration, commissioning, controls, warranty coordination and long-term service.

For charging infrastructure, define the vehicles, connectors, power levels, simultaneous use, site electrical capacity, software interfaces, payment model, communications, installation conditions and service expectations. A working charger demonstration is useful, but the commercial decision also depends on station design, interoperability, uptime support and spare-parts logistics.
