China Lighting Trade Shows 2026–2027: Fixtures, Components, Smart Controls and Project Lighting

A buyer sourcing decorative pendants for distribution, an outdoor luminaire for a municipal tender and a connected lighting system for a commercial building may all ask for “lighting suppliers”. Their product evidence, standards, control interfaces and ideal trade shows are nevertheless different. The most useful China lighting calendar separates finished luminaires and collections from project lighting, production inputs and building-level controls.

Guzhen Lighting Fair is the most direct sourcing route in this guide for buyers who want to combine a fair with a dense lighting trading and manufacturing cluster. Hong Kong’s Autumn Lighting Fair is stronger for international-facing indoor, residential, commercial and design-led collections. Its companion Outdoor & Tech Light Expo covers outdoor, industrial, architectural and smart-city applications. Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition provides the broadest technical platform in the selection for fixtures, LED technology, components, controls and connected building systems.

The six exhibitions offer four travel windows: Guzhen and Hong Kong in October 2026, Hong Kong again in April 2027, Ningbo in May and Guangzhou in June. The spring additions serve different needs: Hong Kong offers an international-facing range review, while Ningbo is relevant to luminaire and component sourcing with East China supplier follow-up. Choose the window that fits the purchasing decision; these are alternatives, not a four-trip requirement.

Six lighting exhibitions across four travel windows

Four responsibilities change the fair choice

• Finished collections: design language, assortment, finish, packaging, target price and range continuity matter most. Guzhen and the Hong Kong Autumn Lighting Fair lead this route.
• Project luminaires: the application, optical result, environment, mounting, controls and maintenance basis must match a real site. Outdoor & Tech Light Expo offers the most concentrated project scope; GILE adds broader technical depth.
• Components: LEDs, drivers, optics, housings, thermal parts, sensors and connectors affect product architecture and quality control. GILE is the principal technical route, while Guzhen links decisions back to local fixture manufacturing.
• Connected systems: luminaires, sensors, gateways, protocols, software and commissioning must have named owners. GILE and the concurrent Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology event provide the clearest building-level context.

This boundary prevents a smart-luminaire demonstration from being treated as a complete controls solution, or a visually similar fixture from being accepted without evidence for the intended project.

October 2026: use the cluster and the two Hong Kong markets differently

Begin in Guzhen when supplier follow-up matters

The autumn China (Guzhen) International Lighting Fair runs from 22 to 25 October. Its main venue at the Guzhen Convention and Exhibition Center connects to specialist lighting malls for decorative, residential, commercial and outdoor products, brands, components and equipment.

Use the main venue for new collections and initial supplier comparison, then select only the malls that match the brief. Factory meetings become useful after the team has identified what the showroom cannot prove. For a private-label range, compare suppliers against a target assortment and launch calendar rather than collecting unrelated samples. For a project product, bring the mounting, intended light result, environment, controls and certification market.

The cluster puts trading and manufacturing activity close together, but showroom brand, exporter and factory may still be separate legal entities. At a shortlisted production site, trace one product from drawings and incoming parts through assembly, testing, ageing and packing. Establish who controls design changes and which processes are outsourced.

Treat the Hong Kong fairs as one split-venue programme

HKTDC’s Outdoor & Tech Light Expo runs from 26 to 29 October at AsiaWorld-Expo near Hong Kong International Airport. The Autumn Lighting Fair runs from 27 to 30 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. Their dates overlap, but each needs separate days and meetings; they are not adjacent halls.

The Autumn Lighting Fair is the stronger Hong Kong route for commercial and residential luminaires, decorative and design-led collections, LED lighting and connected products. Its 2025 edition recorded 2,630 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions and 40,510 buyers. Those completed-edition figures show its international sourcing role without predicting the 2026 mix.

Distributors can compare assortment structure, export presentation, packaging and market position. For any connected offer, establish supported protocols, software ownership, update policy, commissioning and after-sales responsibility. Road lighting, smart poles and demanding outdoor infrastructure belong more naturally at the companion event.

The Outdoor & Tech Light Expo concentrates smart poles, landscape and architectural lighting, and outdoor, industrial and technical systems. Its 2025 edition recorded 359 exhibitors and 10,374 physical buyers from 117 countries and regions. Its smaller scale reflects a narrower project mission, not a lesser version of the indoor fair.

Outdoor and industrial teams should define the installation environment, light distribution, mounting, protection, controls and maintenance basis. For smart poles, separate lighting from communications, cameras, sensors, displays, charging and other devices, then name the owner of each subsystem.

Fix the sequence before arrival

One compact route uses 26 October for Outdoor & Tech Light at AsiaWorld-Expo, then moves the main programme to the Autumn Lighting Fair from 27 October. Return to AsiaWorld-Expo only for confirmed meetings. A larger team can divide outdoor and infrastructure work from indoor collections while sharing one specification and comparison format.

The full October sequence also includes a mainland–Hong Kong border crossing and three different sourcing environments: the Guzhen fair, specialist markets or factories, and two Hong Kong exhibition venues. Fix transport and confirmed meetings before arrival.

Spring 2027: range review in Hong Kong or supplier development in Ningbo

The Hong Kong Spring Lighting Fair runs on 20–23 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It offers an alternative for distributors and project teams whose buying cycle fits an April range review better than an October visit. Compare the finished luminaire and its commercial offer first; for connected products, establish who supplies the controls and commissioning. Do not assume the autumn exhibitor mix or its separate outdoor fair is reproduced in spring.

Ningbo International Lighting Exhibition follows on 7–9 May at the Ningbo International Conference and Exhibition Center. Its lighting-chain coverage makes it useful when fixtures, component choices and production capability need to be discussed together. It adds an East China option to Guzhen’s Guangdong sourcing route, rather than replacing GILE’s broader building-controls comparison. Shortlist relevant suppliers before arranging factory meetings, and confirm the actual production address and access separately: participation in the fair does not guarantee a nearby factory visit.

These are separate travel windows, roughly two weeks apart. A team evaluating international product ranges may need only Hong Kong; a team qualifying an East China manufacturing partner may prefer Ningbo. Combining both needs a concrete supplier-development purpose, not merely consecutive dates on the calendar.

June 2027: GILE for components, controls and building integration

Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition 2027 is scheduled for 9–12 June at the China Import and Export Fair Complex. Its product groups span indoor and outdoor luminaires, LED technologies, components, drivers, controls and related systems. It is held with Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology, adding building automation and electrical-engineering context.

The completed 2026 edition reported 2,802 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions and 210,128 visitors from 164 countries and regions, including the concurrent GEBT event. That scale makes role-based planning essential: fixture buyers, component engineers and controls integrators should not follow the same halls.

Manufacturers can compare components and establish how a proposed change affects the finished luminaire. Project teams can compare fixtures against the intended mounting, climate, controls and maintenance conditions. Controls teams should map the path from field devices through gateways and protocols to software, cloud services and the building-management interface, with a named party for configuration, commissioning, updates and support.

Choose GILE when the project needs wide comparison across LED technology, components, controls and building integration, or when June fits the development calendar. Choose Guzhen for private-label fixture sourcing, permanent markets and nearby factory follow-up. Choose Hong Kong’s autumn programme for international-facing collections or a clear indoor-versus-outdoor split.

Within this guide’s calendar, October 2026 comes before the April–June 2027 options. If a second visit is justified, carry forward an unresolved range, component or controls decision from the first trip; do not restart the same broad supplier search at each fair.

Prepare a brief suppliers can answer consistently

Keep the overview brief to five inputs:

• the application, mounting and intended light result;
• the luminaire or system boundary, including controls and commissioning;
• the environmental and performance evidence required for that application;
• the destination market, certification and documentation basis;
• the assortment or project quantity, target cost, packaging, warranty and delivery schedule.

Use a show-specific plan for detailed photometric, electrical, optical, thermal, protocol, software, cybersecurity and acceptance questions. At the fair, compare every supplier against the same reference product or project condition, then use samples, technical files and production evidence to reduce the shortlist.
