Global Sources Phase 2 2026: Plan a Smart-Gift Sourcing Trip

Connect mobile and lifestyle electronics with MEGA SHOW gift, packaging and homeware sourcing, while checking the support a smart gift will need.

A smart gift joins two purchasing decisions: whether the device works for the recipient, and whether its presentation fits the retail range. Global Sources Phase 2 on 18–21 October 2026 at AsiaWorld-Expo addresses mobile accessories, connected devices and lifestyle electronics. MEGA SHOW Part 1 on 20–23 October at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre adds gifts, packaging and homeware categories.

For a gift or lifestyle importer buying both electronic and non-electronic goods, these can form one useful trip: establish the device and its support requirements first, then select the complementary assortment. A buyer sourcing only mobile repair parts or a connected-building system has much less reason to add MEGA SHOW.

Start with the recipient’s first use

Phase 2 includes wearables, mobile accessories and AI-integrated products, alongside smart-home and lifestyle electronics. Choose meetings around the intended user and sales channel. A small device suitable for an electronics specialist may be difficult for a gift shop to support.

Ask the supplier to demonstrate setup in the recipient’s language, on a relevant phone, and with the functions promised on the package. Establish what works offline, whether an account or paid subscription is required, and who handles app changes and customer questions. For a product promoted with AI features, separate what the demonstrated device actually does from what depends on an external service. These checks inform your range choice; they are not a substitute for the technical documentation and testing appropriate to the product and destination.

Take a defined product into the gift-sourcing meetings

MEGA SHOW Part 1’s official scope includes tech gifts, personal electronics, giftwrap and packaging, housewares and pet supplies. That makes it useful for a coherent gift assortment, not merely another place to browse gadgets. Compare complementary products by recipient, intended retail price position and sales channel, keeping device specifications intact.

Before discussing a box, pouch or related item, take the selected device’s dimensions, included accessories, charging arrangement and sample reference. Ask how instructions and essential product information will remain visible in the proposed presentation. A packaging quotation should identify who checks fit and who will pack the finished set; a packaging supplier is not automatically the electronics supplier or final assembler.

Keep the electronic product and complementary items separately identifiable in quotations. This makes it possible to compare alternatives without losing sight of which supplier owns the device, packaging and after-sales response. It also helps when one item is ready and another still needs sampling.

Move after the device questions are clear

Use 18–19 October for priority Phase 2 demonstrations and preserve time before the show ends on 21 October for return meetings. MEGA SHOW continues on 22–23 October, so a targeted 22 October visit can follow the anchor without dividing an overlap day between distant halls. If your main MEGA contacts are available only on 20 or 21 October, choose a full venue block around those appointments.

AsiaWorld-Expo is in the airport area; HKCEC is in Wan Chai. Arrange the transfer as a separate journey and check current event transport rather than assuming a free inter-show shuttle. Register through each organiser’s own website; MEGA SHOW’s fact sheet makes advance registration relevant to its entry arrangements.

Before extending the stay, confirm that the MEGA shortlist fills real assortment gaps. Also ask suppliers to work backwards from the intended selling period: sample approval, packaging and production may put a new item beyond the season you had in mind. When device support or samples remain unresolved, retaining money and time for follow-up can be more valuable than adding another category.
