Global Sources Phase 1 2026: Add the HKTDC Electronics Fair

Plan consumer-electronics and gaming supplier meetings first, then decide whether branded products or emerging technology justify an extra HKTDC day.

Hong Kong’s October electronics calendar creates a useful sequence for an importer building a retail range. Global Sources Phase 1 runs on 11–14 October 2026 at AsiaWorld-Expo; the HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair, Autumn Edition continues until 16 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. A buyer can finish the anchor visit before crossing to the second fair.

The extra day is worth planning when it answers a different buying question: a branded distribution opportunity, a technology partnership or a gap left in the electronics range. Keep Global Sources’ consumer-electronics and gaming meetings as the foundation, and add HKTDC on the strength of named targets rather than the convenience of another open exhibition.

Match each visit to an unfinished buying question

Global Sources Phase 1 promotes shelf-ready consumer electronics and gaming products. It is a logical first stop for comparing products for an existing sales channel and discussing private-label or customised versions with suppliers. For a gaming range, identify the intended platform and user segment before arranging demonstrations; an attractive peripheral for one customer group may add little to another.

HKTDC’s current fair information identifies Hall of Fame, Tech Hall and a Startup Zone. These provide useful directions for a second shortlist: branded products for distribution, devices that could refresh a range, or young companies seeking commercial partners. This is a difference in where to focus your search, not a claim that Global Sources has no brands or that HKTDC lacks OEM suppliers. Check the current exhibitor information before deciding which meetings are genuinely additional.

Use 15 October to avoid a rushed venue change

HKTDC runs on 13–16 October, overlapping the final two days of Phase 1. A clean sequence is to protect Global Sources appointments on 11–14 October and use 15 October for a concentrated HKTDC visit. A shorter trip can choose one venue on an overlap day according to confirmed meetings, rather than attempt to cover both in fragments.

AsiaWorld-Expo is beside the airport with an on-site Airport Express station. HKCEC is at 1 Expo Drive in Wan Chai. Budget a separate cross-city transfer, including station connections, walking and entry checks; an airport-to-venue rail time is not a door-to-door estimate between these exhibition halls. Consult the venue’s current transport information and confirm any event shuttle separately.

Begin visitor arrangements through each organiser’s own event page. Global Sources displays free registration, while HKTDC publishes its own visitor information. Confirm the applicable badge and admission procedure for each; one organiser’s registration should not be assumed to cover the other.

Keep private-label and distribution offers comparable

For an OEM/ODM conversation, identify the exact model, operating compatibility, branding or packaging changes, sample availability and the effect of modifications on delivery and technical documentation. A visually similar device with different firmware or connectivity may create a different support burden for your customers.

For branded distribution, establish the intended territory, channel rights, warranty handling and who supports software or product updates. At a startup or technology meeting, distinguish a working demonstration from a product available for regular supply. Ask what remains before a commercial sample, which functions depend on a paid service, and who will answer customer problems after launch. These questions let the second fair reveal a genuinely different opportunity instead of producing a less comparable quotation.

Let the shortlist decide the extra night

A buyer with a narrow computer-peripheral order and enough suitable Phase 1 suppliers may gain more from sample follow-up than from an additional hotel night. The same applies when the HKTDC list repeats suppliers already met or contains products outside the intended sales channel.

HKTDC lists its Click2Match online period as 6–23 October 2026, separately from the physical fair. Where available, use that channel to qualify a prospective meeting before travel or continue it afterwards. Keep the second physical day when seeing the product or meeting the decision-maker materially changes the purchase decision.
