WEE Nanjing 2027: Sourcing Elevator Displays

Plan an elevator-display sourcing visit around the Nanjing fair, with a local supplier meeting on mounting, controller interfaces and sample evaluation.

Replacing a failed floor indicator and refreshing a lift cabin with a multimedia screen can look like similar purchases. For a maintenance contractor, however, they can involve quite different work: a matching replacement in the first case, and a new display layout, mounting arrangement or controller interface in the second.

The World Elevator & Escalator Expo 2027 in Nanjing is scheduled for 21–23 April at Nanjing International Expo Center. Its scope covers complete lifts and escalators as well as component systems. For a contractor with a defined display project, the trip can also include a separately confirmed meeting with a Nanjing supplier whose catalogue goes beyond generic spare-parts descriptions.

Decide what the replacement is meant to change

Before the fair, ask the maintenance team to describe the installed display and the purpose of the purchase. Is the customer restoring a failed indicator, changing the visible design, adding information content, or replacing more of the cabin operating panel? Bring the existing part reference, photographs and relevant dimensions supplied by the responsible technician.

Keep that objective consistent when speaking with exhibitors. A complete panel proposal may solve a broader refurbishment need, but it should be compared with another complete panel offer—not with the price of a bare display board. The organiser’s component scope includes controls and door systems as well as other lift parts, so there is room to discuss a wider modernization package if the project actually calls for one.

This distinction also identifies the right people for the follow-up meeting. A visual refresh needs someone who can discuss the display layout; a proposed connection change needs the contractor’s technical team and a supplier able to explain the exact interface.

Three parts of the display brief

Nanjing Zhuye is one possible local contact. Its official site describes elevator displays as a principal product with in-house research and development, and publishes a multimedia cabin-position-indicator page with dimensions, communications interfaces and content functions. These details provide a useful agenda for a sourcing discussion.

First, establish the physical arrangement. Ask for the proposed model’s drawing, screen orientation, visible area and mounting requirements. A screen’s diagonal size alone does not tell the installer whether it fits the existing panel opening or how the finished cabin will look.

Second, establish the system connection. Zhuye’s published example lists RS485 and CAN interfaces. That identifies questions to take to the supplier; it does not prove that either version will work with your installed controller. Have the technician provide the controller and display references, then ask the supplier to document the intended interface and any associated configuration work for the proposed product.

Third, decide what passengers should see. Separate floor and direction information from optional pictures or video. The supplier’s example describes multimedia updates and screen orientation, so ask for a demonstration of the required operating states and the method your customer would use to maintain optional content. The person managing notices after handover may not be the person installing the screen.

Make the Nanjing meeting specific enough to be useful

Zhuye’s official contact page lists 11 Kaituo Road, Jiangning District, Nanjing, and telephone +86 181 1518 3667. Use that contact to request an appointment around the chosen display family. Confirm the actual meeting address, the representative attending and which sample can be shown before booking transport; the published address is a supplier contact, not a promise of factory access or confirmed exhibition participation.

Allow a separate half-day for the discussion and travel between the expo area and Jiangning, adjusted to the confirmed route. Send the brief ahead so the supplier can say whether it can address the installed-system questions. If it cannot, a meeting about unrelated stock adds little to a specialist exhibition visit.

At the appointment, aim to connect the physical sample, its drawing and its proposed configuration. Record the supplier’s model and revision on the quotation, and clarify whether the offer is for a display, an assembled panel or a wider package. Ask about replacement availability and who will answer technical questions during the contractor’s evaluation.

The next step should be a sample plan agreed with the responsible lift team, not an assumption that a visually convincing screen is ready for installation. The team must confirm system suitability and any required approvals for the destination project. A well-prepared local meeting earns its place in the Nanjing trip when it resolves that product boundary and leaves the contractor with a clearly identified option to assess.
