Pet Fair Asia 2027 or PSC: Which Pet Sourcing Trip Fits?

Choose between August assortment and brand comparisons and February supplier sourcing in Shanghai, using your launch schedule and confirmed meetings.

Choose Pet Fair Asia 2027 for an August trip that combines pet-product sourcing with brand, assortment and channel comparisons. Consider Pet Sourcing Fair China 2027 in February when you already have a defined buying brief and want earlier manufacturer, ingredient or packaging discussions. The deciding evidence is the relevant supplier shortlist and your product schedule, not a claim that one event serves brands and the other serves factories exclusively.

Both use Shanghai New International Expo Centre. PSC runs 23–25 February 2027; Pet Fair Asia’s professional days are 18–20 August, followed by consumer days on 21–22 August. These are alternative visits nearly six months apart, not two stops to combine on one trip.

Compare the buying job, not just the category names

For an importer reviewing a pet range, Pet Fair Asia creates a reason to examine finished products and the way brands position them alongside potential sourcing discussions. Before August, decide which gaps you want to fill: a price band, a product function, a pack format or a category your current suppliers do not cover. Then build appointments around that gap. A wall of attractive pet products is much less useful than a set of comparable offers for your actual retail channel.

PSC’s published categories include pet food and supplies, raw materials and supplements, packaging technology and aquarium products. Its 2027 visitor programme describes manufacturer-focused zones and business matching. That makes February a practical option for a buyer arriving with a product specification, expected quantity and a defined role for the supplier.

The overlap matters. PSC also includes finished brands, while Pet Fair Asia has a SUPPLY programme addressing manufacturing and production inputs. Treat these as different opportunities to organise the same buying work, not a rigid split between retail and manufacturing. Check the forthcoming edition’s category layout and the companies willing to meet you before choosing. Older exhibitor lists can help identify leads, but do not confirm 2027 participation.

Let the sample and launch schedule decide the month

Write the required delivery date at the end of a timeline, then work backwards through shipment, production, packaging approval and product evaluation. Ask candidate suppliers how long each stage would take for your exact project. February gives more calendar time before an autumn launch than August, but the earlier exhibition alone cannot guarantee tooling, formulation or shipping readiness.

A buyer of existing carriers or bowls may be able to assess a supplier using dimensions, materials, packaging and an identified production sample. A new food or treat project can require a different sequence involving formulation, shelf-life evidence, destination-market review and pack approval. These are reasons to ask for a realistic development plan, not universal lead-time promises.

If February is too early for your brief to be useful, August may produce better meetings after the range has been defined. Conversely, if the product must arrive shortly after August, consider completing supplier qualification before Pet Fair Asia and using the visit for established-supplier meetings or the next range. Attend both only when the second visit has a new decision to resolve—such as reviewing revised samples—not simply to repeat introductions.

Use the professional window for the work that needs appointments

For Pet Fair Asia, protect 18–20 August for manufacturer, distributor and technical meetings. Use the first part of the visit to compare the range, then return to serious candidates with specific sample and quotation questions. Record whether each contact represents the brand owner, manufacturer, distributor or a company coordinating outsourced production; that determines who can answer product-change and supply questions.

The consumer weekend can add context for a buyer studying merchandising or shopper engagement, but public interest at a booth does not establish demand in your destination market. Agree any weekend business meeting separately rather than assuming the same team will remain available. The organiser’s site still contains some 2026 registration and programme links, so follow the current 2027 instructions when registration is announced.

If there is a genuine daytime gap after business commitments, Shanghai Museum East at 1952 Century Avenue in Pudong offers a separate cultural visit. Its current notice lists a Tuesday closure and last entry at 17:00; reconfirm the 2027 arrangements. It is a spare-time option, not a reason to shorten the three professional days or stay for an unrelated exhibition.
