A wine that impresses at a trade tasting still needs to work as a repeat purchase for a hotel or restaurant. At the HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair 2026, a useful follow-up is a local distributor meeting about the exact wine, its role on the list and how it would be replenished in Hong Kong.
Give the wine a place on your list
HKTDC confirms the fair for 5–7 November 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. Before making additional appointments, identify which purchases the visit should support: a by-the-glass selection, an everyday bottle list or a more limited premium allocation.
Bring the intended purchase-price band, likely order frequency and the number of outlets involved. For a by-the-glass wine, ask how the supplier would support repeat orders and a vintage change. For a limited allocation, ask what quantity is actually available and over what period. These conversations establish different supply needs even when the wines occupy similar price points.
Keep tasting notes attached to an exact producer, wine, vintage and bottle format. If a fair sample is not the vintage being offered for local delivery, make that difference visible before it enters the shortlist.
A specific Causeway Bay contact
ASC Fine Wines publishes a Hong Kong office at 21/F, Lee Garden Six, 111 Leighton Road, Causeway Bay. Its own June 2026 company announcement also identifies the Causeway Bay location and Hong Kong sales functions covering hospitality and retail. It is therefore a named candidate for a local wine-supply appointment, not a confirmed fair exhibitor or a meeting already arranged.
Ask the Hong Kong team whether it handles the wine styles and account type you need. Request the relevant hospitality account contact and, if a tasting is useful, agree the bottles and actual tasting location in advance. The office address does not establish a public showroom, warehouse access or the availability of any particular wine.
Causeway Bay and the Wan Chai exhibition are both on Hong Kong Island. Reserve a separate meeting slot and check the confirmed address, building entry and journey against your fair programme. If the account manager can meet at the fair with the necessary information, an office visit may add little. A private follow-up is worthwhile when it brings the right people, bottles and supply details into one discussion.
Resolve the next order, not only the first case
At the meeting, separate stock already available for Hong Kong delivery from incoming shipments or allocations that are not yet confirmed. Ask for the wine and vintage, bottle and case format, minimum order, delivery arrangements and quotation validity to be stated together. If supply changes after the current vintage, discuss how you would be notified and whether a replacement would require a new tasting and purchasing decision.
For restaurant groups, ask how orders from different outlets would be handled. If staff training or a launch tasting matters to the proposed listing, establish whether the distributor can offer it and under what arrangement. These are services to discuss, not benefits to presume from the company’s portfolio.
Keep the territorial scope explicit. A Hong Kong supply offer does not, by itself, establish availability or distribution rights for an outlet in another market. If that is part of the project, request a separate proposal identifying the responsible supplier and delivery destination before combining the orders.
The visit has done its job when your shortlist states what can be bought locally, for which role on the wine list, and what the next replenishment conversation will be. Where stock or the offered vintage is still uncertain, retain the wine as a candidate rather than presenting it internally as ready for launch.
