CIOSH 2027: Planning a Protective-Clothing Supplier Visit in Shanghai

Plan a Pudong supplier meeting to compare protective-clothing samples, model-specific documents and quotations before ordering.

A protective-clothing catalogue can place flame-resistant workwear, arc-flash garments and chemical coveralls a few pages apart. For a distributor or industrial purchasing team, the useful question is which exact garment belongs in the proposed order—and what still needs checking before it can be accepted for the intended work.

For buyers choosing CIOSH 2027 in Shanghai, a pre-arranged technical meeting with Shanghai C&G Safety is a practical extension when protective clothing is a defined purchase. Use the exhibition to compare suppliers and the appointment to examine particular garment models, samples and documents. Buyers concentrating on unrelated PPE categories will usually gain more from keeping their time at the show.

Decide whether the Shanghai dates suit the purchase

The organiser confirms CIOSH for 14–16 April 2027 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Its published categories encompass both finished protective products and manufacturing inputs, including protective materials and components. That breadth helps a garment buyer compare finished clothing while distinguishing it from a fabric-only offer. CIOSH edition confirmation, exhibit categories.

If the purchase needs to move earlier, CIOSH Autumn 2026 in Jinan is a genuine option in the same PPE trade-show series: 26–28 October 2026 at Shandong International Convention and Exhibition Center. Choose that earlier opportunity if its dates and confirmed supplier meetings meet your buying deadline; choose Shanghai when an April comparison round and a Pudong garment meeting fit the project. These are separate buying trips, not adjacent stops. Confirm the relevant edition’s exhibitors instead of assuming that a company will attend both. The available evidence does not establish that either edition has inherently better export suppliers. Official autumn event page.

Give the supplier one garment brief to answer

Shanghai C&G’s own portfolio includes flame-resistant, arc-flash and chemical protective clothing, making it a relevant appointment candidate for this narrow mission. These category labels are a starting point for a discussion, not interchangeable product specifications. C&G product portfolio.

The difference is concrete in the company’s published CG300B chemical-coverall instructions: the material is described as non-flame-resistant, and the garment cannot be washed. Those instructions are a model-specific example, not a recommendation to buy it. Obtain the current instructions for the exact proposed garment; do not extend the characteristics of one product family to another. C&G CG300B instructions.

Before requesting samples, send a short brief prepared with the person responsible for workplace safety: intended task, identified exposure, destination market, other PPE worn with the garment, wearer sizes and whether the purchasing plan assumes cleaning or disposal. UK HSE guidance highlights matching PPE to the job and wearer and checking that simultaneously worn items work together. Its guidance is useful here for selection questions; destination-market requirements still need their own competent review. HSE selection and use.

Ask the supplier to respond against a named model and construction rather than a general promise of protection. Bring the proposed sample, or request it in advance, and use the meeting to connect three things:

  • The item being quoted: model code, material specification, sizes, closures and any proposed branding or design changes.
  • The evidence offered for that item: report identifiers, the tested configuration, current instructions and which claims or variants still lack matching documents. Ask whether any requested modification changes the evidence needed.
  • The order and evaluation plan: sample quantities, size coverage, quotation quantities, lead times, and who will review the remaining technical questions before an order is approved.

At the booth, a sample can help you compare cut, closures and how clearly suppliers answer the brief. In the technical meeting, spend the time on unresolved differences between that sample, its documents and the quotation. A fitting exercise is not a protective-performance test: suitability for hazardous work must be established separately, without exposing anyone to a hazard to demonstrate a sample.

Book a technical meeting, with the premises confirmed

C&G’s Chinese and English contact pages both list the headquarters at Building 39, Lane 123, Shenmei Road, Pudong, Shanghai. This is the useful starting address for an appointment request. Chinese contact page, English contact page.

The descriptions of a separate Shenmei Road site differ: the Chinese page identifies R&D premises, while the English page uses a factory label. Ask the host to confirm the exact reception point, who can discuss the selected garments and whether sample review or production access is available. Plan a headquarters technical meeting unless a different activity and site are expressly agreed.

This is a research candidate, not an endorsement, an audited supplier or a confirmed CIOSH 2027 exhibitor. Advance confirmation is necessary; a public address does not establish visitor access.

Keep the appointment outside the exhibition days

CIOSH runs Wednesday to Friday. A useful first proposal is Tuesday, 13 April, with the garment brief and preliminary model choices sent ahead. Keep a half-day in the itinerary for the agreed meeting and travel, then use the three exhibition days to test those choices against competing offers. Pudong is a district, not a promise of a short transfer: confirm the address before arranging transport.

If the appointment depends on questions discovered at the show, ask about Monday, 19 April. The company publishes weekday contact hours; Saturday availability is unconfirmed. Staying through the weekend makes sense when the supplier has agreed to prepare material that advances a substantial purchase. Otherwise, take the documents home and arrange a remote review.

The meeting should leave you with a written model shortlist, a sample-and-document request with owners and dates, and a quotation that identifies unresolved choices. Skip the extension if the supplier cannot provide the relevant technical participant, if the garment brief is still undefined, or if the outstanding issue is simply a document that can be emailed. Reserve final safety acceptance for the buyer’s competent review of the actual product and intended use.
