For buyers already travelling to CIMIE 2026, Qingdao offers a practical opportunity to move that discussion beyond the stand.
Use the fair to compare the relevant equipment suppliers, then consider an appointment with Qingdao Jianhua in Jiaozhou for a defined slaughtering or cutting project. The extension earns its time when the meeting can address a species, layout or equipment boundary that remains unresolved after the exhibition. Buyers sourcing finished meat products will usually gain more from meetings with their product suppliers.
Start at the Hongdao venue
CIMIE runs 12–14 September 2026 at Qingdao International Convention and Exhibition Center, Hongdao. Qingdao’s 2 September press briefing confirms this venue; it is distinct from the city’s West Coast exhibition complex. Check the venue name carefully when arranging the hotel and transfers.
The exhibition covers the meat supply chain, including products, slaughtering and processing equipment, packaging and cold-chain operations. For an equipment purchase, organise the shortlist around the animals and production step concerned. A supplier of cattle slaughter lines and a supplier of portioning equipment can both be relevant, but they solve different parts of the plant.
Take a simple layout and a description of the intended output to the first conversations: species, approximate animal or carcass size, required throughput and the step being added or replaced. Ask each promising contact which part of the project its proposed equipment covers. This makes the later appointment about a specific offer instead of another general presentation. The China Meat Association’s official site provides the current industry-week information; confirm admission arrangements through the association before travelling.
A Jiaozhou appointment with a defined purpose
Qingdao Jianhua Food Machinery lists slaughtering and cutting equipment for pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry. Its published contact location is Yinghai Industrial Park, Jiaozhou, within Qingdao. The municipal briefing also names Jianhua in its account of the local livestock-equipment industry, giving this route a concrete industrial connection.
Treat Jianhua as an appointment candidate, not an endorsement or a confirmed CIMIE 2026 exhibitor. Ask whether the appropriate sales and technical staff can meet, which equipment or drawings will be available, and whether access includes a workshop or is limited to a meeting room. Obtain the exact arrival address before booking a vehicle.
Reserve a separate half-day for the Jiaozhou meeting once it is accepted. Hongdao and Yinghai are different destinations around the bay; check the actual road route from your hotel or the exhibition instead of assuming a short city-centre taxi ride. An appointment after your main fair meetings allows the supplier to respond to the questions you have gathered. If staff or relevant equipment are unavailable, a scheduled discussion at the fair or by video may accomplish more than an unprepared journey.
Leave with a clearer equipment offer
Jianhua’s slaughterhouse equipment presentation includes line machinery as well as cold-storage, water, wastewater and traceability-related equipment. That breadth makes the division of supply a useful topic for the meeting. Ask the supplier to mark what is included on the proposed layout, what another contractor supplies and what information is still needed from your plant.
For a new slaughter line, discuss how the quoted throughput relates to the chosen species and process sequence. For a retrofit, concentrate on conveyor interfaces, available space and the work needed during installation. These are questions for the supplier and your own plant specialists; a commercial visit does not establish that a design meets the operating, hygiene or regulatory requirements of the destination country.
If a workshop visit is agreed, use it to examine the relevant assemblies and ask how replacement parts are identified. Seeing equipment under construction can clarify what the offer means, but it does not demonstrate production performance under your operating conditions. Agree what later drawings, tests or commissioning information your technical team needs before accepting the proposal.
The useful outcome is a revised, traceable offer: the same equipment discussed at CIMIE, linked to the correct layout, with open questions assigned to named contacts. When the supplier cannot address the targeted production step, or the purchase is still a broad market survey, retain the fair shortlist and use the remaining time for other relevant suppliers.
