A refrigeration manufacturer developing a controller may need two different conversations: how the cooling system operates, and which electronics can implement its functions. China Refrigeration 2027 runs 7–9 April; electronica Shanghai 2027 follows on 14–16 April. Both use Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). The common venue removes a city transfer, but four intervening days remain.
The combination is useful for an equipment maker with an active controls-development brief and a separately worthwhile electronics shortlist. For buyers sourcing complete refrigeration units with their controls already included, China Refrigeration alone is usually the more focused trip.
Follow the boundary between cooling equipment and electronics
China Refrigeration’s published plan includes automatic control systems and components in E2/E3, alongside its wider refrigeration, air-conditioning and cold-chain offer. Start there to establish whether a supplier already provides the control function as part of an integrated unit or subsystem. That answer may remove the need to source an electronic component separately.
electronica covers embedded systems, sensors, semiconductors, interconnections, power supplies and test equipment. It adds value when your team owns the electronics design or must select components for an existing design. These are different supply levels: a sensor supplier’s product discussion does not replace a refrigeration supplier’s responsibility for a complete unit.
Carry one development question across the two shows
Choose a concrete function before making the second shortlist: temperature or pressure sensing, controller communication, a serviceable electrical connection, or power for the control board. At China Refrigeration, ask how that function interacts with the proposed equipment and who supplies the interface information.
At electronica, use that information to ask about the component’s operating range, connection or output, available technical support and sample route. Keep a control-board component distinct from a ready-to-install assembly: integration, software, testing and ownership of the final design still need to be assigned. Your engineering team should define the necessary qualification work; attending both fairs does not establish system compatibility or safety.
This shared question also helps purchasing join the discussion. A promising component is useful only if the team can identify the exact version being evaluated, its supplier contact and the next technical decision. There is no need to bring the full mechanical-equipment team to every electronics meeting.
Account for 10–13 April before extending the booking
The first show ends on 9 April and the second starts on 14 April. Treat 10–13 April as four additional days, not an unmentioned overnight connection. Staying makes commercial sense when those days already contain confirmed supplier discussions, engineering work or other necessary business. Factory access and weekend availability require their own arrangements; neither is assumed by this itinerary.
A split-team plan may work better: the refrigeration team completes its meetings, shares a short technical handover, and an electronics specialist arrives for the second fair. Compare that option with the accommodation and staff time of keeping everyone in Shanghai. Confirm separate admission arrangements with both organisers even though the venue is the same.
If the remaining purchase is a compressor, refrigeration package or complete cold-room system with no buyer-owned electronics work, keep the extension out of the trip. If the design question is real but the electronics meetings are still speculative, obtain technical answers remotely first and decide whether a return visit is justified.
