Keeping an existing window frame can be the reason to investigate vacuum glazing—and the detail that makes the purchase difficult. China Glass 2027 runs from 24 to 27 May at China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi), Beijing. For a retrofit buyer, the useful extension is a discussion about one actual window, not a general tour of glass manufacturing.
LandVac publishes a window-retrofit offer and lists a North China sales centre in Beijing. An appointment is worth considering when your team needs to connect a shortlisted glass unit with an existing frame and a project-specific mock-up. Buyers choosing processing machinery or simply ordering a known replacement specification will usually gain more from their main exhibition meetings.
Start with the frame you intend to keep
Bring a frame cross-section, measured opening, photographs of the existing window and a description of its condition. Explain whether retaining the frame is a design preference or a firm project constraint. The glazing supplier can discuss its product; the party responsible for the window still needs to assess the frame, hardware and installation arrangement.
LandVac’s installation guidance distinguishes nominal glass thickness from the clearances and insertion depth needed around it. That is why a headline claim about thin glass cannot settle whether a unit fits your window. Ask for the exact proposed build-up and have the window designer or installer review it against the actual glazing pocket, rather than assuming that retaining the frame also means retaining every bead, seal or fitting.
The company’s retrofit page illustrates another reason to name the configuration: its introductory thin-glass example and its table of standard, hybrid and laminated products are not all the same assembly. Request a drawing and product designation for the unit being quoted. This is more useful than carrying the page’s lowest thickness or best performance figure into every comparison.
Use samples for appearance, documents for performance
If the Beijing team can arrange an appropriate sample, agree what it represents before the appointment. Compare its glass build-up and coating with the proposed order, and examine visible supports, edge details, reflections and colour in conditions relevant to the project. A small sample can help settle an appearance question; a full-window mock-up may still be needed to judge the finished result.
Keep thermal claims separate from that visual review. LandVac’s own technical explanation describes a centre-of-glass U-value that excludes frame effects. Ask whether each quoted value concerns the glass or the complete window, which configuration it covers and what supporting report is available. A glass value is not evidence that the retained frame and completed window achieve the same performance.
The practical output is a shortlist of unresolved checks, not an approval at the meeting: frame compatibility, the specified glass construction, appearance acceptance and the evidence needed for the destination project. Have the responsible project professionals settle installation and applicable safety requirements before ordering production units.
Arrange a Beijing sales meeting, not a Luoyang detour
The company’s Chinese contact page lists its North China sales centre at Room 15A06, Office Building 2, Guotou Fortune Plaza, 9 Guang’an Road, Fengtai. Its factory is in Luoyang. Use the English-language company contact to request a Beijing appointment and reconfirm the office address, attendee and sample availability; the listing does not establish a public showroom or manufacturing access. No China Glass 2027 exhibitor status is assumed here.
Shunyi and Fengtai are separate parts of Beijing, so keep the appointment only if its confirmed purpose justifies the actual transfer from your show or hotel schedule. An agreed sample review after your first supplier comparisons can be useful. If the questions can be resolved from drawings, an exhibition-area meeting or remote review may save the trip across the city.
Ask for a follow-up package tied to the same window: proposed product designation, drawings, relevant reports, outstanding measurements and the next mock-up step. With those items, your team can decide whether to keep developing the retrofit option—or return to a different glazing or window solution without committing prematurely.
