A foundry can leave a casting exhibition with promising machine and mould proposals while its metal-supply questions remain unresolved. For buyers attending CHINA DIECASTING & CHINA NONFERROUS 2027, ALUMINIUM CHINA 2027 offers a possible earlier stop: aluminium materials and processing on 7–9 July, followed by die casting on 14–16 July, both at Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
The combination makes sense when your team owns aluminium-alloy purchasing as well as the casting process, and has specific suppliers or questions for both shows. It is a poor reason to lengthen a trip when you only need finished cast components, a replacement machine or magnesium-specific supply. ALUMINIUM CHINA is broader than foundry materials; its extrusion, rolling and foil offer does not become relevant merely because the metal is aluminium.
Give each exhibition a different job
ALUMINIUM CHINA’s official range includes raw and recycled aluminium, alloys, testing equipment and auxiliaries such as master alloys, foundry chemicals and refractories. Use that scope to identify materials suppliers and clarify the form in which they can supply your foundry. The organiser’s matchmaking service can help frame an enquiry around those categories, but a useful meeting still needs a named supplier and a purchasing task.
At CHINA DIECASTING, bring the resulting material options into discussions about the intended casting, mould and production process. Its official programme covers alloys alongside manufacturing technologies, giving the team a setting to discuss those choices together.
For an OEM buying a finished housing from a contract foundry, the allocation is different. The foundry may control metal purchasing and qualification, so your useful conversation is with that foundry about the delivered part and its evidence. Attending an earlier metal show yourself is worthwhile only if the project genuinely gives you a role in that supply decision.
Carry one alloy brief between the two shows
Before the first appointment, identify the alloy specification and revision your project uses, the delivery form you want, the intended part and any customer restrictions on material changes. Add the casting and subsequent processing steps that suppliers need to understand. A trade name or a loosely similar grade is not enough to establish that two proposals address the same requirement.
Ask materials suppliers what batch documentation they can provide and how they identify the material behind a quotation. If recycled content matters to your customer, ask what the claim includes, how it is calculated and which documents support it. Keep that evidence attached to the actual offer. A general recycling story cannot answer a part-specific materials question.
Then give the casting or process supplier the same brief, including unresolved points—not just a price per tonne. Ask which proposed changes would require further material or part qualification, who would carry it out and what information is needed next. The shows can connect the two sides of the decision; they cannot approve an alloy substitution or prove that a finished casting meets your requirements.
Budget for two show visits, not one continuous event
The calendar contains four complete intervening days, 10–13 July. ALUMINIUM CHINA lists halls E1–E7, while CHINA DIECASTING lists N1–N5. Sharing SNIEC removes an intercity transfer, but it does not remove the additional hotel nights or turn the gap into exhibition days.
One workable sequence is to hold the materials meetings on 7–9 July, prepare a concise handover with your technical colleagues, then use 14–16 July for casting suppliers. Staying through the gap is justified when you have confirmed follow-up work or other real appointments. Otherwise, a materials colleague can attend the first show and pass the brief to the die-casting team, or you can keep the original CHINA DIECASTING trip and conduct materials discussions remotely.
Check the two organisers’ current visitor arrangements separately, and confirm supplier attendance before committing to the longer stay. The useful result is not a larger collection of quotations: it is a set of material offers and casting proposals that refer to the same part, the same alloy requirements and a clearly assigned next qualification step.
