Canton Fair Phase 3 2026: Apparel Show Alternatives and a Focused Supplier Route

Compare Canton Fair Phase 3 with Shenzhen Fashion Source for apparel missions, then choose one evidence-led route for textiles, footwear or health products.

Phase 3 combines finished apparel, textiles, footwear, bags, sports goods and health-related products under one export platform. That breadth helps multi-category importers, but it also raises a real selection question for apparel buyers.

Which option fits which buyer

Choose Canton Fair Phase 3 for broad finished-goods discovery across several consumer categories. Choose Shenzhen Fashion Source 2026 when the mission is specifically fabrics, apparel supply chains and garment production. The two are credible alternatives for an apparel buyer, but not for footwear, bags or health products.

After either event, follow one focused lane—not a generic “consumer-goods factory tour”.

Phase 2 finishes four days before Phase 3 and covers home, kitchen, décor, gifts and building-related products. Combining the two phases works when the buyer has a separate written brief for each; the shared “consumer products” label is too broad to make the route useful by itself.

Canton Fair Phase 3 or Shenzhen Fashion Source?

Shenzhen Fashion Source 2026 runs 21–23 October 2026, eight days before Phase 3 opens on 31 October. It is more specialised for fabrics, apparel manufacturing and garment-production resources; Phase 3 is stronger for importers combining finished apparel with footwear, bags and other export categories.

The eight-day gap supports a combined trip when a serious shortlist of supplier appointments can fill the intervening days. Without that work, choosing one event will usually make better use of the trip.

Break Phase 3 into buyer missions

140th Canton Fair Phase 3 is broad enough that “I source consumer goods” is not an actionable plan. Before arrival, choose one primary lane and define a second only if another team member owns it:

  • Apparel, fabrics and home textiles.
  • Footwear, bags and fashion accessories.
  • Sports, leisure and selected personal products.
  • Healthcare or medical-adjacent consumer products.

Use the fair to compare suppliers inside the same lane. A garment factory and a home-medical-device supplier should never share one evaluation sheet.

A Guangzhou textile route can be real

Guangzhou government material describes a substantial textile and garment ecosystem linked to fabric and accessory markets and manufacturing clusters across Guangzhou and neighbouring Pearl River Delta cities. This makes an apparel or home-textile follow-up route credible.

The route should still be appointment-led. Professional markets can help with material discovery and small-batch context, while factories answer questions about pattern, cutting, sewing, finishing, quality, capacity and traceability. A supplier found in a wholesale market may be a manufacturer, agent or trader, so confirm who owns the production before arranging a factory meeting.

Other categories must follow their actual addresses

For footwear, bags, sports or healthcare goods, map the shortlisted companies by real production location and build the route around those addresses rather than the textile cluster. Healthcare products also require a distinct regulatory review covering intended use, product classification, destination-market evidence and legal manufacturer responsibility.

A practical post-show method

During the fair, collect comparable data: legal entity, factory address, product scope, materials, key processes, standard or test basis, minimum order, sample timing, packaging and export markets. Use the evening after each show day to remove candidates that cannot answer basic questions.

Reserve the next working day for second meetings and document review. Add one or two factory or market days only for the strongest lane. Keep the final half-day for quotation and sample comparison.

What to verify beyond the booth

For textiles and apparel, check material identity, colour and shade control, shrinkage, performance finishes, workmanship, needle policy where relevant, subcontracting and social-compliance requirements. For footwear and bags, add last or mould ownership, adhesives, hardware, wear testing and packaging deformation. For healthcare products, use qualified regulatory review rather than applying ordinary consumer-goods assumptions.

When not to extend

If the shortlist is spread across unrelated provinces or the buying brief contains more than two unowned categories, complete a remote sorting round first. A focused later trip is better than a rushed Guangzhou route that visits the wrong kind of supplier.
